Trans-Diaqua-bis-[2-(2-pyrid-yl)acetato-κN,O]nickel(II).

ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title complex, [Ni(C(7)H(6)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Ni(II )atom, located on an inversion center, is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by two N and four O atoms from the two chelating 2-(2-pyrid-yl)acetate ligands and two aqua ligands. The mol-ecules form a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.506 (3) Å.

The aqua H atoms are involved in inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which extend the two-dimensional structure to a three-dimensional architecture. The Cd?Cd separation within a layer is 9.0031?(1)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(6)N(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of ZnBr(2) with 2-[5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]acetic acid. The Zn(II) atom lies on an inversion center in a distorted octa-hedral environment with two planar trans-related N,N'-chelating 2-[5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]acetic acid ligands in the equatorial plane and two water mol-ecules in the axial positions. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds generate an infinite three-dimensional network.

Project description:The Zn(II) ion in the title compound, [Zn(C(15)H(14)N(10))(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2), lies on a centre of symmetry. The distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment around the Zn atom is composed of two 1,3-bis-[5-(2-pyrid-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]propane ligands (L1) and two water mol-ecules, coordinated in trans positions. The ligand acts as a typical bidentate chelating ligand through one of its 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole units, forming a five-membered Zn-N-C-C-N metallacycle with a small N-Zn-N bite angle [77.40 (8)°]. The other 2-pyridyl-2H-tetra-zole unit remains uncoordinated. The average Zn-N distance (2.156 Å) is somewhat longer than the distance between the Zn(II) center and the aqua ligand [2.108 (2) Å]. The coordinated pyrid-yl-tetra-zoyl rings are quasi-coplanar, making a dihedral angle of 1.9 (2)°, while the uncoordinated rings show a larger inter-planar angle of 21.3 (2)°. The flexible propane spacer displays a zigzag chain. Inter-molecular O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O inter-actions result in two-dimensional polymeric structures parallel to (100). Two C atoms of the spacer are disordered over two positions, with site occupancy factors of ca 0.85 and 0.15.

Project description:The title Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(7)H(4)ClO(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], is centrosymmetric with the Ni atom located on an inversion centre. The mol-ecule contains two 2-chloro-benzoate (CB) and two nicotinamide (NA) ligands and two water mol-ecules, all ligands being monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni atom form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl group and the adjacent benzene ring is 29.48 (16)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 83.16 (5)°. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into infinite chains. π-π Contacts between the benzene and pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.952 (1) Å] may further stabilize the crystal structure. There is also a C-H⋯π inter-action.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(13)H(14)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](C(12)H(8)O(6)S(2))·H(2)O, the cation, anion and uncoordinated water mol-ecule have crystallographically imposed twofold symmetry. The cobalt(II) atom exhibits a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by two N atoms from two 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane ligands and the O atoms from four water mol-ecules. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings in the ligand is 86.14 (11)°, whereas the dihedral angle formed by the symmetry-related benzene rings in the anion is 35.81 (12)°. In the crystal, cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked into layers parallel to the ac plane by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bond inter-actions. The layers are further connected into a three-dimensional network by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The bidentate 1,3,4-thia-diazole ligand, namely, 2,5-bis-(2-pyrid-yl)-1,3,4-thia-diazole (denoted L), untested as a polydentate ligand, has been found to form the monomeric title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(4)S)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](BF(4))(2). The complex shows an octa-hedral environment of the nickel cation in which the Ni(2+) ion is located on a center of symmetry, linked to two ligands and two water molecules. In this 1:2 complex (one metal for two organic ligands) each thia-diazole ligand uses one pyridyl and one thia-diazole N atom for chelate binding. In the second pyridyl substituent, the N atom is oriented towards the same direction as the S atom of the 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring. The mean plane of the thia-diazole and pyridyl rings linked to the nickel cation forms a dihedral angle with the other pyridine ring of 18.63?(8)°. The tetra-fluorido-borate ions can be regarded as free anions in the crystal lattice. Nevertheless, they are involved in an infinite two-dimensional network parallel to ([Formula: see text]01) through O-H?F hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(9)H(6)N(3)O(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Ni(II) atom, located on an inversion center, is ligated in an octa-hedral geometry by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 2-{[5-(pyridin-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]sulfan-yl}acetate (L) ligands and two O atoms from water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane, and two pyridine N atoms from other two L ligands at the apical sites. Two L ligands bridge pairs of metal atoms in an anti-parallel manner, forming centrosymmetric dinuclear quasi-recta-ngular units which are linked into infinite double-stranded chains parallel to [100]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinating water mol-ecules and the carboxyl-ate groups of the L ligand as well as interchain S⋯N inter-actions [2.726 (2)-3.363 (2) Å] lead to the formation of a layer structure parallel to (001).

The complex mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a chain along [010]. π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings and between the pyrazole rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.772 (2) and 3.546 (2) Å] connect the chains.
