Bis(imidazolium) galacta-rate dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title salt, 2C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(6)H(8)O(8) (2-)·2H(2)O, the galacta-rate dianions have crystallographic inversion symmetry and together with the water mol-ecules of solvation form hydrogen-bonded sheet substructures which extend along (110). The imidazolium cations link these sheets peripherally down c through carboxyl-ate O-H-N and N'-H⋯O(hy-droxy) bridges, giving a three-dimensional framework structure.

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(4)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(2)O(4) (2-)·2H(2)O, the asymmetric unit consists of one 2-methyl-imidazolium cation, half a fumarate dianion and one water mol-ecule. There is an inversion center at the mid-point of the central C-C bond of the fumarate anion. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, there are weak ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.640?(1)?Å.

Tetra-imidazolium piperazinediium bis-(benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxyl-ate) dihydrate.

Project description:During the crystallization of the title compound, 4C(3)H(5)N(2) (+)·C(4)H(12)N(2) (+)·2C(9)H(3)O(6) (3-)·2H(2)O, the acidic protons were transferred to the imidazole and piperazine N atoms, forming the final 4:1:2:2 hydrated mixed salt. The mean planes of the three carboxyl-ate groups in the anion are twisted with respect to the the central benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 13.5?(1), 14.5?(1) and 16.9?(1)°. In the crystal, the component ions are linked into a three-dimensional network by a combination of inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.393?(2)?Å and weak C=O?? inter-actions [O-centroid = 3.363?(2)?Å].

Project description:In the title hydrated salt, C(15)H(11)Br(2)N(2) (+)·Cl(-)·2H(2)O, the complete imidazolium cation is generated by a crystallographic twofold axis, with one C atom lying on the axis. The chloride ion and both water mol-ecules of crystallization also lie on a crystallographic twofold axis of symmetry. The cation is non-planar, the dihedral angle formed between the central imidazolium and benzene rings being 12.9?(3)°; the dihedral angle between the symmetry-related benzene rings is 25.60?(13)°. In the crystal, O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds result in supra-molecular chains along c mediated by eight-membered {?HOH?Cl}(2) synthons. These are consolidated by C-H?O and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.687?(3)?Å] inter-actions.

Imidazolium trans-di-aqua-dioxalato-chromate(III) dihydrate.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, (C3H5N2)[Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, the complete cation is generated by a crystallographic twofold rotation axis, with one C atom lying on the rotation axis. The complete anion is generated by crystallographic inversion symmetry (Cr(III) site symmetry -1), to generate a slightly distorted CrO6 octa-hedron with trans water mol-ecules and chelating oxalate dianions. The oxalate ion is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.017?Å) and the five-membered chelate ring is a shallow envelope with the metal ion displaced by 0.126?(1)?Å from the ligand atoms. The crystal structure features O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the components into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound (C(17)H(17)N(2))(2)[Fe(2)Cl(6)O], obtained from the solid-state reaction of FeCl(2) and N,N'-dibenzyl-imidazolium chloride, the complex anion has approximate D(3d) symmetry with crystallographically imposed inversion symmetry coincident with the bridging μ-O atom. The stereochemistry about each FeCl(3)O centre is distorted tetra-hedral [Fe-Cl = 2.2176 (5)-2.2427 (5) Å and Fe-O = 1.7545 (2) Å]. Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title hydrated salt, 2C6H6N3 (+)·SO4 (2-)·2H2O, there are two independent sulfate ions, one lying on a twofold axis, and the other in a general position. There are three independent benzotriazolium cations and three independent water mol-ecules. The sulfate ion in a general position forms hydrogen-bonded chains of stoichiometry SO4 (2-)·3H2O in the b-axis direction. The sulfate on the twofold axis is unhydrated and accepts hydrogen bonds from four surrounding benzotriazoles. The benzotriazolium cations form two types of stacks along b. One stack contains only one type of independent cation, related by inversion centers. The other stack contains two alternating independent cations and no symmetry. The two types of stacks have orientations which are rotated by about 79° in the ac plane. 12 symmetrically distinct hydrogen bonds of type N-H⋯O(sulfate), N-H⋯O(water), O-H⋯O(sulfate) and O-H⋯O(water), with donor-acceptor distances in the range 2.5490 (13)-2.7871 (12) Å, form a three-dimensional array.

As a result, the two carb-oxy groups of each imidazolium unit adopt a cis configuration with respect to the imidazolium ring.
