ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C(13)H(9)ClN(3)O)(2)]NO(3)·1.5H(2)O, the central Co(3+) atom in the cation is coordinated by four N and two O atoms from the two tridentate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral fashion. In the crystal, the cobalt complex cations are linked to the half-occupied and the fully occupied water mol-ecules, and the nitrate anion via classical inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?O contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C20H14N2O2)(C5H6N2)2]NO3, the Co(III) atom is coordinated in a slightly elongated octa-hedral geometry by the N2O2 donor set of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand and by the pyridine N atoms of two trans-arranged monodentate 4-amino-pyridine mol-ecules. The pyridine rings are aligned nearly perpendicularly to each other [dihedral angle = 82.28?(13)°]. The phen-oxy rings form dihedral angles of 12.37?(12) and 12.16?(14)° with the phenyl-ene ring. In the crystal, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the ions into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C10H15)2]2[CoCl4]·2CH2Cl2, was isolated as a dichloromethane solvate and was formed in the reaction between lithium penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienide and anyhydrous cobalt(II) chloride in tetra-hydro-furan. There are two deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cations, one tetrachloridocobaltate(II) anion and two di-chloro-methane solvent mol-ecules in the formula unit. There is a slight disorder of the di-chloro-methane solvent which was treated with a two-site model [occupancy rates = 0.765?(4) and 0.235?(4)]. The di-chloro-methane mol-ecules display significant C-H?Cl inter-actions with the tetrachloridocobaltate(II) dianion. The cobalt atom of the deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cation sits on a twofold rotation axis, with only one penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene ligand being unique and the second generated by symmetry. The cobalt atom of the [CoCl4](-2) ion sits on a special site with -4 symmetry, with one unique chloride ligand and the others generated by the fourfold inversion axis.

Project description:The Mn(III) atom in the title complex, [Mn(C(11)H(10)N(3)O)(2)]NO(3), is coordinated by the two tridentate (2-pyrid-yl)(2-pyridyl-amino)-methano-late ligands, forming a six-coordinate environment. The four pyridyl N atoms constitute the equatorial plane on which the manganese(III) ion lies; the coordination plane suffers a slight distortion as indicated by the average plane deviation of 0.058?Å. The methano-late O atoms occupy the axial positions. The coordination geometry is thus octa-hedral. In the title compound, the cations are linked by nitrate anions via N-H?O hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional chains. Moreover, the one-dimensional structure is stabilized by inter-molecular edge-to-face aromatic ?-? inter-actions with a center-of-inversion at a distance of ca 4.634?Å.

Project description:The title complex salt hydrate, [Cr(C13H9N2O2)2]NO3·H2O, comprises discrete cations, nitrate anions and solvent water mol-ecules. The Cr(III) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by two anionic Schiff base ligands with the O atoms being cis. The two ligands differ significantly with dihedral angles between the pyridine and benzene rings of 4.8?(2) and 24.9?(2)°. The nitrate anion and solvent water mol-ecule were modelled as being disordered, with the major components having site-occupancy values of 0.856?(14) and 0.727?(16), respectively. The crystal is built of alternating layers of cations and of anions plus water mol-ecules, stacked along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(N(3))(3)(C(16)H(14)N(4))], was synthesized by hydro-thermal reaction of [Co(NH(3))(6)](NO(3))(3), NaN(3) and tris-(2-pyrid-yl)methyl-amine. The structure contains two independent complexes in the asymmetric unit, with closely comparable geometry. The Co(III) atoms are hexa-coordinated by three N atoms from the tridentate tris-(2-pyrid-yl)methyl-amine ligands and three azide ions in a fac arrangement. N-H?N hydrogen bonds are formed between the amino group and the uncoordinated terminal N atoms of the azide ligands.
