ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear salen-type complex, [Eu(NO(3))(3)(C(22)H(26)N(2)O(4))]·CH(3)OH, the Eu(III) ion is ten-coordinated by three bidentate nitrate counter-ions and one organic salen-type ligand, which acts in a bis-bidentate chelating mode through its phenolate and meth-oxy O atoms. The protonated imine groups are involved in intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds to the phenolate O atomss, emphasizing the zwitterionic nature of the ligand. An O-H?O hydrogen bond links the complex and solvent mol-ecules.

The Eu(III) ion is ligated to three nitrate groups, four O atoms from the salen-type ligand and one methanol mol-ecule, leading to a distorted tenfold coordination for the rare earth cation. One of the three nitrate anions is disordered over two positions in a 0.66 (5):0.34 (5) ratio.

H atoms located on the two N atoms are involved in intra-molecular hydrogen bonds with the deprotonated phenol O atoms, indicating that proton migration occurs during the lanthanum complexation.

Project description:The title compound, C(56)H(83)N(9)O(9)S·3CH(3)OH, is a methanol tris-olvate of the cyclo-linopeptide cyclo(Met(1)-Leu(2)-Ile(3)-Pro(4)-Pro(5)-Phe(6)-Phe(7)-Val(8)-Ile(9)) (henceforth referred to as CLP-B), which was isolated from flaxseed oil. All the amino acid residues are in an l-configuration based on the CORN rule. The cyclic nona-peptide exhibits eight trans peptide bonds and one cis peptide bond observed between the two proline residues. The conformation is stabilized by an ?-turn and two consecutive ?-turns each containing a N-H?O hydrogen bond between the carbonyl group O atom of the first residue and the amide group H atom of the fourth (?-turn) or the third residue (?-turns), repectively. In the crystal, the components of the structure are linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The synthesis of the title hydrated complex salt, [Co(C6H14N2)3]Cl3·H2O, from racemic trans-1,2-di-amino-cyclo-hexane and [CoCl(NH3)5]Cl2 and its structural characterization are presented in this paper. The product was synthesized in the inter-est of understanding the hydrogen-bonding patterns of coordination complexes. Previous characterizations of the product in the I-42d space group have not yielded coordinates; thus, this paper provides the first coordinates for this complex in this space group. The octahedrally coordinated cation adopts twofold rotation symmetry, with outer-sphere chloride counter-ions and solvent water mol-ecules forming a hydrogen-bonded network with amine H atoms.

Project description:The mononuclear title complex, [Eu(C24H34O4P)3(CH4O)5]·CH4O, (1), has been obtained as a minor product in the reaction between EuCl3(H2O)6 and lithium bis-(2,6-diiso-propyl-phen-yl) phosphate in a 1:3 molar ratio in a methanol medium. Its structure exhibits monoclinic (P21/c) symmetry at 120 K and is isostructural with the La, Ce and Nd analogs reported previously [Minyaev et al. (2018a ▸). Acta Cryst. C74, 590-598]. In (1), all three bis-(2,6-diiso-propyl-phen-yl) phosphate ligands display the terminal κ1 O-coordination mode. All of the hy-droxy H atoms are involved in O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding, exhibiting four intra-molecular and two inter-molecular hydrogen bonds. Photophysical studies have demonstrated luminescence of (1) with a low quantum yield.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(20)H(18)N(2)O(8), has been investigated to establish the relative stereochemistry between the ester groups. The cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation, in which the two ester groups occupy the adjacent equatorial positions in a trans relationship with each other. The mol-ecules assemble in the crystal as chains along the c axis via C-H?? inter-actions between the cyclo-hexane ring and a pair of nitro-phenyl rings of the neighbouring mol-ecule. Also observed are ?-? stacking inter-actions between the nitro-phenyl rings of neighbouring chains, with a perpendicular distance between these rings of 3.409?Å and a slippage of 0.969?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Eu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))Cl(CH(3)OH)(2)]·CH(3)OH}(n), contains one Eu(III) ion, one pyridine 2,3-dicarboxylate dianion (PDC), two CH(3)OH mol-ecules coordinating to the metal atom, one coordinating chloride and one lattice occluded CH(3)OH mol-ecule. In the crystal, each PDC anion coordinates to three adjacent Eu(III) ions by the pyridine N and O atoms of the carboxyl-ate groups. The Eu(III) cation is eightfold coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms, one pyridine N atom, two MeOH and one chloride anion in the form of a distorted polyhedron. Extended coordination of the PDC ligand lead to the formation of a two-dimensional coordination polymer parallel to (10-1).
