Tris(benzyl-diphenyl-phosphane-κP)(nitrato-κO)silver(I).

ABSTRACT: The mol-ecular structure of the title complex, [Ag(NO₃)(C₁₉H₁₇P)₃], exhibits a severely distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment around the central Ag^I atom, comprising one O and three P atoms. Apart from a primary Ag-O coordination of the nitrato ligand of 2.667 (3) Å, a second (weaker) secondary inter-action of the nitrato ligand via the other O atom of 3.118 (4) Å is observed. The compound crystallizes with a complete mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions consolidate the packing.

The intra-molecular π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6113 (11) Å] between two of the 4-fluoro-phenyl groups is complemented by both C-H⋯F and C-H⋯O inter-actions with distances in the range 2.51-2.60 Å, resulting in a tight head-to-tail packing.

A nitrate anion is coordinated to the Ag atom. There is a centre of symmetry at the mid-point of the ethane C-C bond and a twofold rotation axis passes through the Ag, N and terminal O atoms. Each Ag atom is four-coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two O atoms of the nitrate anion and two P atoms of dppe ligands. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ag(NO(3))(C(15)H(8)N(2)O(2))(2)], tryptanthrin (indolo[2,1-b]quinazoline-6,12-dione) and silver nitrate form a 2:1 complex. The silver ion is surrounded by two tryptanthrin ligands, each coordinating through the N atoms, with Ag-N bond lengths of 2.247 (3) and 2.264 (3) Å, and an anionic nitrate ligand coordinating through two O atoms, with Ag-O bond lengths of 2.499 (3) and 2.591 (3) Å. In the crystal, C-H⋯O inter-actions between aromatic H atoms and keto and nitrate O atoms as well as π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.706 (4) Å] give rise to a three-dimensional network.

The environment around the Ho atom can be described as a distorted bicapped square anti-prism. Two phenanthroline ligands form a dihedral angle of 43.72 (13)°. Short inter-molecular distances between the centroids of the six-membered rings [3.6887 (14)-3.8374 (16) Å] indicate the existence of π-π inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into stacks extended in the [10] direction. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
