ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title complex, [Mn(NCS)(2)(C(11)H(11)N(3)O)(4)], the Mn(II) atom, lying on an inversion center, is coordinated by two monodentate thio-cyanate anions and four monodentate 1-phenyl-3-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propan-1-one ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Each complex mol-ecule is linked to four neighboring ones by weak C-H?N and C-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional sheet parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title compound, C(8)H(8)N(4)·C(8)H(8)N(4), two tautomers, viz. 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine and 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine, are crystallized together in equal amounts. The 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine mol-ecule is essentially planar; the phenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 2.3?(2)° with the mean plane of the 1,2,4-triazole ring. In the 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine tautomer, the mean planes of the phenyl and 1,2,4-triazole rings form a dihedral angle of 30.8?(2)°. The ?-electron delocalization of the amino group with the 1,2,4-triazole nucleus in the 3-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-5-amine mol-ecule is more extensive than that in the 5-phenyl-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine tautomer. The mol-ecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by N-H?N hydrogen bonds.

The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by four PzMe(3) mol-ecules and two thio-cyanate anions to define a trans N(4)S(2) distorted octa-hedral geometry. A number of intra-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯S and C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the stability of the complex. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯S inter-actions, which link neighbouring mol-ecules into chains along the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, (C5H6N)[Fe(NCS)4(C5H5N)2], the Fe(III) ion is coordinated by four thio-cyanate N atoms and two pyridine N atoms in a trans arrangement, forming an FeN6 polyhedron with a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Charge balance is achieved by one pyridinium cation bound to the complex anion via N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding. The asymmetric unit consists of one Fe(III) cation, four thio-cyanate anions, two coordinated pyridine mol-ecules and one pyridinium cation. The structure exhibits π-π inter-actions between pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7267 (2), 3.7811 (2) and 3.8924 (2) Å]. The N atom and a neighboring C atom of the pyridinium cation are statistically disordered with an occupancy ratio of 0.58 (2):0.42 (2).
