Trans-Bis(thio-cyanato-κN)tetra-kis-(3,4,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazole-κN)nickel(II)-3,4,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazole (1/1).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(10)N(2))(4)]·C(6)H(10)N(2), the asymmetric unit comprises a Ni(II) complex and a co-crystallised mol-ecule of 3,4,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazole (PzMe(3)). The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by four PzMe(3) mol-ecules and two thio-cyanate anions to define a trans N(4)S(2) distorted octa-hedral geometry. A number of intra-molecular N-H⋯N, N-H⋯S and C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the stability of the complex. The crystal structure is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯S inter-actions, which link neighbouring mol-ecules into chains along the a axis.

In the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(10)N(2))(4)]·C(6)H(10)N(2), the asymmetric unit comprises a Ni(II) complex and a co-crystallised mol-ecule of 3,4,5-trimethyl-1H-pyrazole (PzMe(3)). Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Ni(NCS)(2)(Aim)(4)] (Aim = 1-allyl-imidazole), which contain a distorted octa-hedral NiN(6) chromophore. The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the 1-allyl-imidazole ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Mn-N(Aim) and Mn-N(NCS) distances are 2.105 (2) and 2.098 (2) Å, respectively. Weak C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(II)Cl(2)(C(6)H(10)N(2))(2)], a pair of 3,4,5-trimethyl-pyrazoles act as monodentate ligands. Two Cl(-) anions are also bonded directly to the Co(II) atom, which has a CoN(2)Cl(2) chromophore in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit are related by an approximate twofold rotation roughly parallel to the a axis. The amino H atom in the pyrazole ring participates in weak N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds to form chains that propagate roughly parallel to the c axis.

Pyridinium bis-(pyridine-κN)tetra-kis-(thio-cyanato-κN)ferrate(III).

Project description:In the title compound, (C5H6N)[Fe(NCS)4(C5H5N)2], the Fe(III) ion is coordinated by four thio-cyanate N atoms and two pyridine N atoms in a trans arrangement, forming an FeN6 polyhedron with a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. Charge balance is achieved by one pyridinium cation bound to the complex anion via N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding. The asymmetric unit consists of one Fe(III) cation, four thio-cyanate anions, two coordinated pyridine mol-ecules and one pyridinium cation. The structure exhibits π-π inter-actions between pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7267 (2), 3.7811 (2) and 3.8924 (2) Å]. The N atom and a neighboring C atom of the pyridinium cation are statistically disordered with an occupancy ratio of 0.58 (2):0.42 (2).

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) nitrate with potassium seleno-cyanate and pyridazine leads to crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCSe)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two terminal N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions and four pyridazine ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure contains two crystallographically independent pyridazine molecules in cavities of the structure, which are not coordinated to the metal centres. The structure is pseudo-C-centered due to the positioning of the discrete coordination complexes; the non-coordinating pyridazine molecules, however, break the C-centering. In the subcell, these ligands are disordered around centres of inversion, which do not coincide with the mid-point of the mol-ecules.

Project description:Reaction of Co(NCS)2 and Zn(NCS)2 with 4-pyridine-thio-amide led to the formation of compounds with composition [Co(NCS)2(C6H6N2S)4]·H2O (1) and [Zn(NCS)2(C6H6N2S)2] (2), respectively. The asymmetric unit of compound 1, consists of one cobalt(II) cation, two thio-cyanate anions, four 4-pyridine-thio-amide ligands and one water mol-ecule whereas that of compound 2 comprises one zinc(II) cation that is located on a twofold rotation axis as well as one thio-cyanate anion and one 4-pyridine-thio-amide ligand in general positions. In the structure of compound 1, the cobalt(II) cations are octa-hedrally coordinated by two terminal N-bonding thio-cyanate anions and by the N atoms of four 4-pyridine-thio-amide ligands, resulting in discrete and slightly distorted octa-hedral complexes. These complexes are linked into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding between the amino H atoms and the thio-cyanate S atoms. From this arrangement, channels are formed in which the water mol-ecules are embedded and linked to the host structure by inter-molecular O-H⋯S and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. In the structure of compound 2, the zinc(II) cations are tetra-hedrally coordinated by two N-bonding thio-cyanate anions and the N atoms of two 4-pyridine-thio-amide ligands into discrete complexes. These complexes are likewise connected into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding between the amino H atoms and the thio-amide S atoms.

The asymmetric unit consists of one Co(II) cation, which is located on a special position with site symmetry 2/m, one thio-cyanate anion and one dioxane mol-ecule, located on a crystallographic mirror plane, as well as one 3-cyano-pyridine ligand in a general position. The crystal structure consists of discrete complexes of [Co(NCS)(2)(3-cyano-pyridine)(4)], as well as two non-coordinating 1,4-dioxane solvent mol-ecules which are disordered due to symmetry.

The discrete complexes are arranged into layers parallel to the ab plane which are separated by additional non-coordinated pyridazine ligands.
