ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(15)H(12)N(4))(2)](ClO(4))(2), the Ni(II) atom lies on an inversion center and is octa-hedrally coordinated by the N atoms of two tridentate tri-2-pyridyl-amine ligands. The two perchlorate anions are disordered over two sites with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.528?(19):0.472?(19).

Project description:The redetermination of the structure of the title compound, [Fe(C15H12N4)2](ClO4)2, (I), confirms the structure previously reported [Kucharski et al. (1978a ?). Aust. J. Chem. 31, 53-56], but models the perchlorate over four sets of atomic sites, rather than using just one set of sites as in the original report. The supra-molecular assembly, not reported previously, takes the form of a complex three-dimensional framework built from C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The isotypic nickel(II) analogue, [Ni(C15H12N4)2](ClO4)2, (III), has been refined using the original data set [Wang et al. (2011 ?). Acta Cryst. E67, m78], again using a four-component disorder model for the anion, rather than a two-component model as in the original report, leading to more satisfactory Cl-O distances and O-Cl-O angles.

Project description:The mononuclear neutral title complex, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)], shows a cis-octa-hedral geometry around the Ni(II) ion, formed by two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (Hdpa) ligands and two thio-cyanate anions. Both amine H atoms are involved in N-H?S hydrogen bonding, resulting in the formation of layers of inter-linked mol-ecules parallel to the ab plane, which are further held together by weak ?-? inter-actions between adjacent complexes, involving one ring of each dipyridyl-amine unit [centroid-centroid distance = 3.777?(4)?Å], forming a three-dimensional assembly.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(C(25)H(19)N(4)O(2))(2)], which was obtained by the reaction of nickel(II) perchlorate with 2,6-diformyl-4-methyl-phenol and (tri-2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine in methanol solution, is a discrete monometallic complex. The Ni(II) atom is six-coordinated by the phenolate O, imine N and pyridine N atoms from two tridentate Schiff base ligands in a distorted NiN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angles between the noncoordinated pyridyl rings of each ligand are 72.95?(8) and 69.59?(7)°.

Inter-molecular O-H⋯N inter-actions link the monomeric units into a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded (4,4) network, which is extended to a three-dimensional supra-molecular aggregate via π⋯π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances 3.809 (3) and 3.499 (3) Å].

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(C20H21N3)2](ClO4)2, two tridentate (2-methyl-benz-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine (L) ligands form the Mn(II) complex [MnL 2](ClO4)2. The Mn(II) ion lies on a twofold axis and the complex cation is significantly distorted from regular octa-hedral geometry. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions between the cations and anions, which link them into a zigzag ribbon along [101]. The perchlorate anion is disordered and was constrained to be tetra-hedral with two orientations having occupancies of 0.768 (4) and 0.232 (4). The 2-methylbenzyl moiety is also disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.508 (15) and 0.492 (15).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)]I, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex and an I(-) anion. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted cis-N(4)IO octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. As a result of the different trans effects of the I, N and O atoms, the Mn-N bond trans to the I atom is slightly longer than the Mn-N bond trans to the N or O atoms. The dpa ligands are not planar, with dihedral angles between the two pyridine rings of 26.2?(4) and 26.5?(4)°. The complex cations are stacked in columns along the a axis and are linked to the anions by inter-molecular O-H?I and N-H?I hydrogen bonds.
