ABSTRACT: In the title compound, {[Ag(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(C(6)H(12)N(4))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) atom shows a distorted triangular pyramidal geometry,, formed by two N atoms from two hexa-methyl-ene-tetra-amine (hmt) ligands and one N atom from a pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (4-pdc) ligand and one water mol-ecule. The hmt ligands bridge the Ag atoms, forming a chain along [001]. The carboxyl-ate group of the 4-pdc ligand is uncoordinated. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups stabilize the structure.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Y(2)(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(6)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, each Y(III) atom is nine-coordin-ated by nine O atoms from five ligands and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic coordination environment. The Y(III) atoms are separated by a distance of 4.0363 (9) Å. The ligands coordinate in three different modes: chelating, bridging and a mixed chelating bridging mode. In the crystal structure, the binuclear complexes are linked by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(3)FNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated in a ZnO(4)N(2) environment by two 3-fluoro-pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (3-fpy4-cbx) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The [Zn(3-fpy4-cbx)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] mol-ecules form a three-dimensional network through strong O-H⋯O and weak O-H⋯F hydrogen bonds between 3-fpy4-cbx and water mol-ecules. The crystal used for data collection was a twin, with the twin law corresponding to a 180° rotation about the real-space [001] axis. The major twin fraction refined to 0.795 (1).

In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and offset π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-centroid distances = 3.551 (1) and 3.746 (1) Å] involving inversion-related pyridine rings link the polymeric chains and lattice water mol-ecules to form a supra-molecular three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(4)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]Cl(2), contains two Li(I) cations, one with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and the other with a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. Two symmetry-related asymmetric units constitute a building block of the structure, in which both ligand carboxyl-ate O atoms are bidentate and bridge the metal ions, forming a divalent cation. Charge balance is maintained by two chloride anions. The building blocks, bridged by Li(I) cations, form cationic ribbons with chloride anions in the space between them. The ribbons propagate in [010] and are held together by a network of weak O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds which operate in the space between adjacent ribbons.

In the complex, the Pd(IV) ion is located on a fourfold inversion axis and eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral environment by four N and four O atoms from four symmetry-related pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate (pic) anionic ligands. In the crystal, the water mol-ecule is involved in O-H?O hydrogen bonding, and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. One Fe(II) atom is in a distorted octa-hedral N(2)O(4) environment, with two chelating rings from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two O atoms from the water mol-ecules, while the other is in a distorted octa-hedral O(6) environment with two O atoms from the pyridine-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and four O atoms from the water mol-ecules. Both Fe(II) atoms lie on crystallographic centers of symmetry. The complex possesses an infinite chain structure running along the [101] direction. These chains are inter-connected by the uncoordinated water mol-ecules through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(3)ClNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is located on an inversion centre and is octa-hedrally coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane and two O atoms of two 6-chloro-3-carboxyl-ate ligands in axial positions. There are also four lattice water molecules present. The organic ligands are bound to the Ni(II) ion in a monodentate manner through a carboxyl-ate O atom. There is one strong intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond and six inter-molecular O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions in the packing, resulting in a complex three-dimensional network structure.
