ABSTRACT: The title oxidovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(15)H(11)N(3)O(5))(CH(3)O)O], was obtained by the reaction of 2-hy-droxy-3-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde, 4-nitro-benzohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is five-coordinated by the two O and one N donor atoms of the Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom and one oxido O atom, forming a distorted square-pyramidal geometry.

Project description:In the title complex, [V(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(C(2)H(5)O)O], the V(V) ion is coordinated by an oxide O atom, an ethano-late anion and two O atoms and one N atom from the tridentate benzo-hydrazidate dianion in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry; the V atom is displaced by 0.4748 (8) Å from the basal plane towards the axial oxide O atom. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond occurs in the benzohydrazidate ligand. Weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal.

The V(V) atom is coordinated by the O,N,O'-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted VO(4)N square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The oxide O atom lies at the apex of the square pyramid and the N atom of the ligand and the methano-late O atom are trans. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings of the ligand is 1.8 (3)°.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Sn(CH(3))(2)(C(9)H(8)N(2)O(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))], the Sn atom exhibits a penta-gonal bipyramidal coordination geometry defined by two C, three N and two O atoms. The bond distances for Sn-C, Sn-N and Sn-O are in the ranges 2.097 (3)-2.098 (3), 2.298 (2)-2.623 (2) and 2.157 (2)-2.266 (2) Å, respectively. The mol-ecular structure of the monomeric compound is stabilized by three intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, all involving bipyridine C-H groups.

The methanol O atom lies trans to the V=O group. The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and the naphthalene ring system is 31.52 (10)°. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds occur.
