ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(2)N(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))](n), the Cu(I) atoms are connected by bridging dicyanamide ligands, forming chains parallel to [100]. Each Cu(I) atom displays a tetra-hedral coordination environment, formed by one S atom and three N atoms from one 2-(pyridin-2-yldisulfan-yl)pyridine and two dicyanamide ligands. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(2)N(3))(C(2)H(3)N)(2)](n), features zigzag chains along the a axis that consist of alternating [Cu(MeCN)(2)] and dicyanamide units, the latter acting as bidentate ligands via both terminal N atoms. The Cu atom shows a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere. The anionic and neutral ligands lie on different mirror planes (perpendicular to the b and a axis, respectively), while the Cu atom is situated on their inter-section. The asymmetric unit comprises one fourth of the formula unit.

Project description:The Cu(II) atoms in the title coordination polymer, {[Cu(C(13)H(11)N(4)O)(C(2)N(3))]·H(2)O}(n), are N,N',O-chelated by the deprotonated Schiff base ligands, and adjacent metal atoms are bridged by the dicyanamide ions, generating a polymeric chain that propagates along the b axis. The two independent metal atoms show a square-pyramidal N(4)O coordination. The two independent water mol-ecules are disordered over two positions; each water mol-ecule is a hydrogen-bond donor to a carbonyl O atom. Weak N-H?N hydrogen bonding is also observed.

Project description:The title polymeric compound, [Cu(2)I(2)(C(8)H(7)N(3))(2)](n) [C(8)H(7)N(3) = 3-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridine (HIPy), where HIPy comes from the in situ deca-rboxylation of 2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)PyIDC)], was obtained under solvo-thermal conditions. Each Cu(I) cation is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment defined by two iodide anions and two nitro-gen atoms from two individual HIPy ligands. Two Cu(I) atoms are connected by two HIPy ligands to form a dimer and these dimers are further bridged through the iodide atoms, leading to a chain structure extending parallel to [100]. Moreover, inter-molecular N-H?I hydrogen bonds and weak ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid?centroid distances of 3.809?(4)?Å, an inter-planar separation of 3.345?(3)?Å and a ring slippage of 1.822?Å] between pyridyl rings link the chains into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network in the ac plane.

Project description:The title complex, {[Cu(C21H13N5S2)]PF6·CH3CN} n , was formed immediately on adding together a methanol solution containing copper(I) ions and a methanol solution of 2,6-bis-[4-(pyridin-2-yl)thia-zol-2-yl]pyridine. Crystallographic studies of the complex reveal a coordination polymer with the ligand acting as a bis-(bidentate) ligand with the pyridine N atom not coordinating a metal centre. The Cu(I) atom is four-coordinate with approximately tetra-hedral stereochemistry: the N4 donor set is provided by bipyridine-like moieties of the two heterocyclic ligands. Parallel chains of the coordination polymer run along the b-axis direction with the disordered (0.50:0.50 occupancy ratio) PF6 (-) anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules located between the chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(12)H(9)NO)(2)](n), is a polymeric zinc(II) complex with the metal ion located on an inversion centre. The Zn(II) ion is six-coordinated by two N atoms of two 3-benzoyl-pyridine ligands and four N atoms from four dicyanamide ligands, forming a slightly distorted octa-hedral configuration. In the crystal structure, neighboring Zn atoms are linked together by double dicyanamide bridges to form a polymeric zinc(II) complex.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CO(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N(3))(H(2)O)](n), the Cu(II) ion is penta-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry. The N atoms of the two chelating symmetry-related 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligands and the O atoms of the two monodentate acetate anions are nearly coplanar, with a mean deviation from the least-squares plane of 0.157?(2)?Å and the Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.050?(3)?Å from this plane towards the apical water O atom. Bridging through the bis-monodentate 5-(pyridin-3-yl)pyrimidine ligand forms a one-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a two-dimensional supra-molecular structure parallel to (100). The crystal studied was an inversion twin with a 0.57?(3):0.43?(3) domain ratio.

Project description:In the title polymeric complex, {[Ag(C11H11N3)]PF6} n , the Ag(I) ion is two-coordinated in a nearly linear coordination geometry [N-Ag-N = 175.98?(9)°] by two pyridine N atoms from two symmetry-related N-[(pyridine-2-yl)meth-yl]pyridine-3-amine ligands. Each Ag(I) ion is bridged by the ligands, forming a helical chain propagating along the b-axis direction. The right- and left-handed helical chains are alternately arranged via Ag?Ag [3.2639?(5)?Å] and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.523?(1)?Å], resulting in the formation of a two-dimensional supra-molecular network extending parallel to (101). Weak Ag?F inter-actions [longest Ag?F inter-action = 3.153?(2)?Å], as well as N-H?F and C-H?F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, occur between the helical chains and the anions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(2)(C(6)H(7)N)](n), there are two copper atoms with different coordination environments. One Cu atom (Cu1) is linked to the two cyanide ligands, one N atom from a pyridine ring while the other (Cu2) is coordinated by the two cyanide ligands in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry and linked to Cu1, forming a triangular coordination environment. The Cu atoms are bridged by bidentate cyanide ligands, forming an infinite Cu-CN chain. One cyanide ligand is equally disordered over two sets of sites, exchanging C and N atoms coordinated to both metal atoms. However, one cyanide group is not disordered and it coordinates to Cu1 via the N atom whereas its C-atom counterpart coordinates Cu2. The 3-methyl-pyridine (3MP) ligand coordinates through the N atom to Cu1 as a terminal ligand, which originates from decyanation of 3-pyridyl-acetonitrile under hydro-thermal conditions. Adjacent Cu-CN chains are inter-connected through Cu?Cu inter-actions [2.8364?(10)?Å], forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C19H17N4O2)]ClO4·C2H3N} n , is reported and compared to similar structures in the literature. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21. The unit cell contains one complex mol-ecule in addition to perchlorate as the counter-ion and solvent (aceto-nitrile). The crystal packing evinces extended chains whereby the carboxyl-ate moiety on the 6-carboxyl-ato-2-(pyridyl-meth-yl)bis-(pyridin-2-ylmeth-yl)amine ligand bridges between two different copper centers in adjacent mol-ecules. This packing arrangement for the title compound appears to be unique when compared to allied structures in the literature. The perchlorate anion showed signs of disorder and its oxygen atoms were modelled over two sets of partially occupied sites, the occupancy of which was competitively refined to 0.564 (12)/0.436 (12). The crystal studied was refined as a two-component inversion twin.

Chains with the bridging ligands are formed along the a axis. C-H?F inter-actions stabilize the structure. C-O?? inter-actions also occur.
