ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Sn(2)(CH(3)O)(2)Cl(6)(C(3)H(7)NO)(2)], contains two hexa-coordinated Sn(IV) atoms symmetrically bridged by two deprotonated methanol ligands, with an inversion center in the middle of the planar Sn(2)O(2) ring. The other sites of the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the Sn(IV) atom are occupied by three Cl atoms and one O atom from a dimethyl-formamide mol-ecule. The complex mol-ecules are connected by weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to (10).

The Sn(II) atoms are penta-coordinated and have a distorted octa-hedral ?-SnCl(3)O(2) coordination geometry. The O atoms from the dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules occupy trans positions, while the Cl atoms exhibit a meridional arrangement.

Project description:The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)2Cl2(CH4N2S)2], has been obtained from the reaction between Sn(C6H5)2Cl2 and SC(NH2)2. The asymmetric unit consists of one half of the mol-ecular unit, the remainder generated by a twofold rotation axis located along the Cl-Sn-Cl bonds. The Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by two phenyl groups, two Cl atoms and two thio-urea ligands in an all trans octa-hedral C2Cl2S2 environment. Individual mol-ecules are connected through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional network structure. Intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C38H34Cl2O2Te2·H2O, contains two independent Te(IV) cations, each coordinated by three phenyl ligands, two Cl(-) anions and one acetic acid mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral C3Cl2O geometry; the longer Te?Cl distances ranging from 3.2007?(11) to 3.4407?(11)?Å and the longer Te?O distances of 3.067?(3) and 3.113?(3)?Å indicate the weak bridge coordination. The Cl(-) anion and acetic acid mol-ecule bridge the two independent Te(IV) cations, forming the dimeric complex mol-ecule, in which the Te?Te separation is 3.7314?(4)?Å. Project description:The SnIV atom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2 donor set having an all-trans disposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octa-hedron. The crystal features C-H?F, C-H?Cl and C-H?? inter-actions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl?H/H?Cl and F?H/H?F contacts to the mol-ecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three phenyl groups, a chloride ion and a dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.934 (3) Å. An intra-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action is also observed.

Monoclinic polymorph of chlorido-(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)tri-phenyl-tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title tin complex, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(C2H6OS)], (I), has been reported with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit in an ortho-rhom-bic cell [Kumar et al. (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. E65, m1602-m1603]. While using SnPh3Cl as a starting material for a reaction for which the products were recrystallized over a very long time (six months) from dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a new polymorph was obtained for (I), with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of a monoclinic cell. The coordination geometry of the Sn centres remains unchanged, with the Cl- ion and the DMSO mol-ecule in the apical positions and the phenyl C atoms in the equatorial positions of a trigonal bipyramid. The main difference between the polymorphs is the relative orientation of the phenyl rings in the equatorial plane, reflecting a degree of free rotation of these groups about their Sn-C bonds. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into [010] chains mediated by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [V(2)Cl(4)O(2)(CH(3)CN)(4)], is a centrosymmetric dinuclear V(IV) complex associated with four mol-ecules of acetonitrile. The coordination around both V(IV) atoms is essentially square-planar, involving three Cl atoms and one O atom [maximum deviation = 0.017?(3)?Å for the O atom]. The augmented octahedral coordination of the metal atom is completed by the N atoms of acetonitrile ligands. The V(IV) atoms are linked by two Cl atoms, acting as bridging atoms. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin with a ratio of the two twin components of 0.8200?(3):0.1800?(3). Although Cl and O atoms are present as potential acceptors in the title compound, no hydrogen bonds were observed in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title co-crystal, [Sn(4)(CH(3))(8)Cl(4)O(2)]·2[Sn(CH(3))(2)Cl(C(4)H(8)NS(2))], all the Sn(IV) atoms are in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environments. In the mononuclear species, the carbodithio-ate ligand is unsymmetrically coordinated to the Sn(IV) atom, with Sn-S distances of 2.6722?(12) and 2.4706?(11)?Å. All atoms with the exception of the methyl groups and one of the pyrrolidine ring CH(2) groups lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. The pyrrolidine ring exhibits an envelope conformation; the C atom at the flap is disordered above and below the plane of symmetry with fixed occupation factors of 0.50. The centrosymmetric dimer species consists of a central Sn(2)O(2) unit with two adjacent Sn(2)OCl four-membered rings.

Project description:The title compounds, [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2(H2O)2][Sn(CH3)3(CHO2)2] (1) and [Sn3(CH3)9(OH)2]Cl·H2O (2), are partially condensed products of hydrolysed tri-methyl-tin chloride. In the structures of 1 and 2, short cationic tris-tannatoxanes (C9H29O2Sn3) are bridged by a diformatotri-methyl-tin anion or a chloride anion, respectively. Hydrogen bridges are present and supposedly stabilize these structures against further polymerization to the known polymeric tri-methyl-tin hydroxide. Especially noteworthy is that the formate present in this structure was formed from atmospheric CO2.
