Chlorido(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)triphenyl-tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three phenyl groups, a chloride ion and a dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.934 (3) Å. An intra-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action is also observed.

Project description:In the title compound, [FeSn(C(5)H(5))(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(6)H(4)O(2))], the Sn(IV) atom displays a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry, provided by one O atom of the monodentate ferrocene-carboxyl-ate ligand [Sn-O = 2.079 (2) Å] and by three C atoms of the three phenyl groups [average Sn-C = 2.130 (4) Å]. No classic hydrogen bonds or inter-molecular inter-actions are observed in the crystal.

Project description:The five-coordinate Sn atom in the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(CH(3)OH)], exists in a trans-C(3)SnO(2) trigonal-bipyramidal coordination polyhedron of which the O atoms of the methanol mol-ecule and carboxyl-ate group occupy the apical sites. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O inter-actions, generating a helical hydrogen-bonded chain running along the b axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)(C(9)H(10)NO(2))], the Sn atom is coordinated by three phenyl groups and a carboxyl-ate anion in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. An intra-molecular C-H?O inter-action forms an S(7) ring motif. The dihedral angles between the benzoate group and the other three phenyl rings are 76.94?(8), 66.82?(8) and 42.34?(9)°. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

Monoclinic polymorph of chlorido-(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)tri-phenyl-tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title tin complex, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(C2H6OS)], (I), has been reported with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit in an ortho-rhom-bic cell [Kumar et al. (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. E65, m1602-m1603]. While using SnPh3Cl as a starting material for a reaction for which the products were recrystallized over a very long time (six months) from dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a new polymorph was obtained for (I), with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of a monoclinic cell. The coordination geometry of the Sn centres remains unchanged, with the Cl- ion and the DMSO mol-ecule in the apical positions and the phenyl C atoms in the equatorial positions of a trigonal bipyramid. The main difference between the polymorphs is the relative orientation of the phenyl rings in the equatorial plane, reflecting a degree of free rotation of these groups about their Sn-C bonds. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into [010] chains mediated by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Sn(2)Cl(4)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], contains dimers formed through weak Sn?Cl [3.691?(2)?Å] inter-actions, resulting in a planar Sn(2)Cl(2) core with an inversion center at the centre of the four-membered ring. The Sn(II) atoms are penta-coordinated and have a distorted octa-hedral ?-SnCl(3)O(2) coordination geometry. The O atoms from the dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecules occupy trans positions, while the Cl atoms exhibit a meridional arrangement.

The phenyl ring of one of the six benzyl units was refined as equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:The SnIV atom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2 donor set having an all-trans disposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octa-hedron. The crystal features C-H?F, C-H?Cl and C-H?? inter-actions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl?H/H?Cl and F?H/H?F contacts to the mol-ecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

The complex mol-ecules are connected by weak C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to (10).
