Poly[diaqua-tris-(μ(4)-1,3-phenyl-enediacetato)-dineodymium(III)].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(10)H(8)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), each of the two Nd(III) ions is nine-coordinated by eight O atoms from six different 2,2'-(m-phenyl-ene)diacetate (pda) bivalent anions and by one O atom from a water mol-ecule, forming a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. Eight Nd(III) ions and 12 pda ligands form a large [Nd(8)(pda)(12)] ring, and four Nd(III) ions and six pda ligands form a small [Nd(4)(pda)(6)] ring. These rings are further connected by the coordination inter-actions of pda ligands and Nd(III), generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular framework.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title mixed-ligand coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Nd(III) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment formed by one water mol-ecule, one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, and five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups. The local coordination polyhedron around the Nd(III) ion is a bicapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(III) centers are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups to form an Nd(2) dimeric unit; these are further connected by 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate linkers, resulting in a layered coordination network.

Project description:The title dysprosium coordination polymer, {[Dy(2)(C(10)H(8)O(6))(3)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), was synthesized by reacting dysprosium(III) nitrate and the flexible ligand (p-phenyl-enedi-oxy)diacetic acid under hydro-thermal conditions. Each Dy(III) ion is coordinated by nine O atoms in a tricapped trigonal prismatic geometry. The DyO(9) polyhedra form layers parallel to the bc plane. The rigid benzene rings of the anions link the layers along the a axis, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [La(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), there are two independent La(III) atoms which are coordinated differently in slightly distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal and slightly disorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic environments. The La(III) ions are bridged by μ(4)-isophthalate ligands, forming two-dimensional layers. In the crystal structure, these layers are connected by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ce(2)(C(8)H(5)NO(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), each Ce ion is in nine-coordinated environment. Eight O atoms from six ligands participate in coordination, in addition to one O atom from a water mol-ecule. Both carboxyl-ate groups from the ligands chelate the Ce atoms, forming two four-membered rings. The 5-amino-isophthalate ligands also bridge the Ce centers, forming a two-dimensional network, and O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds complete the structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Sm(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(2)](n), is composed of one-dimensional chains and is isostructural with previously reported compounds [Wang et al. (2003 ▶). Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. pp. 1355-1360]. The asymmetric unit contains two Sm atoms, each of which lies on a crystallographic twofold axis. Both crystallographically independent Sm atoms are coordinated by eight O atoms in a distorted dodeca-hedral arrangement. The polymeric chains run along [001]. Adjacent chains are connected through π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.450 (2) Å], forming a two-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the coordination polymer, {[Pr(C(6)H(5)O(7))(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), seven of the nine coordination sites of the monocapped square-anti-prismatic geometry are occupied by three O atoms of the same citrate trianion (an O atom of the hy-droxy unit and the formally single-bond O atoms from two carboxyl units). Two other coordination sites are occupied by the O atoms of a chelating carboxyl unit of another citrate; one of these atoms is additionally involved in bridging. The seventh coordination site is occupied by the O atom of the formally double-bond O atom of a neighboring citrate. The remaining two coordination sites are occupied by water mol-ecules. The citrate functions in a μ(3)-bridging mode, connecting the metal atoms into a ribbon structure parallel to [010]. The structure is consolidated into a three-dimensional network by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
