ABSTRACT: The cation and anion of the title mol-ecular salt, C(7)H(10)NO(+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(8) (-), are linked via an N-H?O hydrogen bond. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond is also found in the anion. In the crystal, the anions self-assemble via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a C(9) supra-molecular chain the b axis. Further inter-molecular N-H?O inter-actions also occur.

The supra-molecular aggregation is completed by the presence of edge-to-face and offset face-to-face ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.673 and 3.697?Å, respectively.

Project description:There are two independent formula units in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(4)H(10)NO(+)·C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-). The morpholinium cations in both mol-ecules are puckered and adopt a chair conformation. Intermolecular N-H?O and C-H?O inter-actions generate rings of motifs R(2) (1)(5) and R(1) (2)(6). The supra-molecular aggregation is completed by the presence of two co-operative hydrogen-bonded networks of further N-H?O inter-actions, which generate an infinite one-dimensional chain along the base vector [100]. Two C-H?? interactions are also seen.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(14)H(15)N(2)O(4) (+)·Cl(-), can be described as being composed of layers containing both cations and anions that are staggered along [010]. Two types of the hydrogen bonds are observed, viz. cation-anion and cation-cation. The chloride anions are acceptors of the strong hydrogen bonds donated by the secondary amine and the hy-droxy groups. The packing is also stabilized by weak C-H?O inter-molecular hydrogen bonds. An intra-molecular N-H?O inter-action also occurs.

Project description:In the title molecular salt, C12H9N2 (+)·C6H2N3O8 (-), the cation and anion are connected by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the anion, an intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond with an S(6) ring motif is observed. The planes of two of the nitro groups are approximately parallel to the plane of the benzene ring, making dihedral angles of 3.9 (2) and 15.3 (2)°, while the third nitro group is almost perpendicular to the benzene ring, with a dihedral angle of 78.6 (3)°. In the crystal, cation-anion pairs related by an n-glide plane are connected by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a chain structure along [101]. Sensitivity tests and thermal testing indicate that the title salt is an insensitive high-energy-density material (IHEDM).

Through inter-molecular O-H?O inter-actions between phenolic hy-droxy groups and carbonyl O atoms, these dimers are assembled into undulating hydrogen-bonded layers parallel to the [101] plane. Additionally, the anti-H(-N) atom of the primary amide group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to the O atom of the meth-oxy group. The amide group froms a dihedral angle of 12.6?(1)° with the phenyl ring.
