ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(3)·H(2)O [systematic name: 3-(7-meth-oxy-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indol-1-yl)propanoic acid monohydrate], the fused rings make dhedral angles of 0.4?(1), 1.1?(2) and 1.4?(2)°. In the crystal, the water mol-ecule is involved in the formation of three independent hydrogen-bonded chains via O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, while the carb-oxy group forms an inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title perfluorinated hy-droxy-isobutyric acid derivative, C4H2F6O3, the mol-ecule shows approximately Cs symmetry. The carb-oxy group is nearly coplanar with the C-OH moiety and the O=C-C-O(H) torsion angle is 5.5?(2)°. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction.

Crystal structure of 3-(2,5-di-meth-oxy-phen-yl)propionic acid.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C11H14O4, the aromatic ring is almost coplanar with the 2-position meth-oxy group with which it subtends a dihedral of 0.54 (2)°, while the 5-position meth-oxy group makes a corresponding dihedral angle of just 5.30 (2)°. The angle between the mean planes of the aromatic ring and the propionic acid group is 78.56 (2)°. The fully extended propionic side chain is in a trans configuration with a C-C-C-C torsion angle of -172.25 (7)°. In the crystal, hydrogen bonding is limited to dimer formation via R 2 (2)(8) rings. The hydrogen-bonded dimers are stacked along the b axis. The average planes of the two benzene rings in a dimer are parallel to each other, but at an offset of 4.31 (2) Å. Within neighbouring dimers along the [101] direction, the average mol-ecular benzene planes are almost perpendicular to each other, with a dihedral angle of 85.33 (2)°.

The tetra-hydro-pyridinium ring adopts a half-chair conformation. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked by inter-ionic N-H⋯O, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into chains along the a axis.

In the crystal, the organic mol-ecules are connected with water mol-ecules by pairs of O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the quinoline and oxa-diazole N atoms. The mol-ecules form stacks along the a axis, neighboring mol-ecules within each stack being related by inversion and the shortest distance between the centroids of the oxa-diazole and pyridine rings being 3.500?(2)?Å. Project description:In the title compound, C(48)H(38)N(4)O(8)·C(3)H(6)O(2), the porphyrin mol-ecule is centrosymmetric. The propionic acid solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy factors. The porphyrin central core is almost planar, with an r.m.s. deviation of the fitted atoms of 0.045 Å. The substituent benzene rings make dihedral angles of 70.37 (4) and 66.95 (4)° with respect to the porphyrin core plane. The crystal structure is stabilized by an inter-esting network of hydrogen bonds. Porphyrin mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds creating ribbons running along the [101] direction. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect separate mol-ecular ribbons in the [110] direction, creating (-111) layers. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds also occur. The propionic acid molecules are connected by pairs of -H⋯O hydrogen bonds, creating dimers.
