Cis-Bis[N'-(4-bromo-benzo-yl)-N,N-dimethyl-thio-ureato-?O,S]copper(II).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(10)H(10)BrN(2)OS)(2)], contains two independent complex mol-ecules with almost identical conformations. Two S and two O atoms form the coordination environment of the Cu atom, resulting in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination. The S atoms are in a cis configuration. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:Yellow plate-like shaped crystals of the title compound, [Pd(C(9)H(10)N(3)S)(2)], were obtained by ligand-exchange reaction between palladium(II) acetyl-acetonate and the corresponding organic reagent at room temperature. The Pd(II) atom shows a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry consisting of two ligand mol-ecules in a cis conformation that bind in their thio-lic tautomeric form. Weak inter-molecular Pd⋯H inter-actions with Pd-H distances of 3.328 (2) Å were observed in the crystal structure. The three-dimensional network of the crystal structure is realized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯N, N-H⋯N and C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds.

The compound exhibits rotational disorder of the 5-bromo-thio-phen-2-yl substituent with a refined major:minor occupancy ratio of 0.876 (7):0.124 (7). The 5-bromo-thio-phen-2-yl mean plane is canted to the benzimidazole plane by 20.0 (4) and 21 (4)° in the major and minor components, respectively. Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(10)BrN(3)O(3)S, crystallizes as two concomitant polymorphs that differ in colour (one yellow and one colourless). Only the structure of the colourless form could be determined. The mol-ecule exists in the thio-amide form with an intra-molecular N-H?O=C hydrogen bond across the thio-urea system. Mol-ecules are linked into layers parallel to (120) by Br?O(nitro) contacts [3.103?(1)?Å], classical hydrogen bonds from the other NH function to the S atom and N(nitro)?O=C contacts. The layers are linked by weak C-H?O(nitro) hydrogen bonds to produce the observed three-dimensional network.
