Cyanidotetra-kis-(trimethyl-phosphine)cobalt(I).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Co(CN)(C(3)H(9)P)(4)], was obtained as a product of the reaction of [Co(PMe(3))(4)] with a molar equivalent of 2,6-difluoro-benzonitrile in diethyl ether. This compound is stable in the air for several hours, but rapidly decomposes at room temperature in solution. The cobalt(I) atom has s trigonal-bipyramidal coordination enviroment in which the cyano group and one of the PMe(3) groups are in the axial positions.

In the basal plane, the phenyl substituent is trans to the cyanide group with a C-Co-C angle which is significantly distorted from linearity.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(30)H(23)O(2)P(2))(C(3)H(9)P)(2)], was synthesized by the addition of a Co(PMe(3))(4) solution to (PPh(2)O)(2)C(6)H(4). The Co(I) atom displays a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry with the two P atoms of the 'PCP' pincer ligand and the P atom of one of the trimethyl phosphine ligands forming the basal plane, whereas the metalated C atom and the P atom of the second phospine ligand occupy the apical sites. The Co-C distance is 1.961?(2)?Å and the C-Co-P angle is 171.96?(6)°.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, [Co(C(44)H(24)Cl(4)N(4)){(C(4)H(9))(3)P}(2)]ClO(4), the Co(III) centre has a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry and is coordinated by four N atoms of the tetra-pyrrolic ring in the equatorial positions and two phosphine ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angles between meso-substituted chloro-phenyl rings and the basic tetra-pyrrolic ring are 82.66 (9), 82.16 (7), 83.97 (11) and 76.87 (8)°. In one of the phosphine ligands, the two terminal methyl groups are disordered over two positions with refined site-occupancy ratios of 0.70 (7):0.30 (7) and 0.66 (2):0.34 (2). In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked together along the a axis by inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl inter-actions. The crystal structure is further stabilized by intra-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N inter-actions and inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(3)H(9)P)(3)], was obtained as a product of the reaction of [NiCl(2)(PMe(3))(2)] with an equivalent trimethyl-phosphine in diethyl ether. It easily loses trimethyl-phosphine at room temperature to give NiCl(2)(PMe(3))(2). There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, and their bond lengths and angles are similar. The Ni environment is trigonal bipyramidal. One Ni, one P and two Cl atoms lie in the equatorial plane, with the remaining two P atoms occupying axial positions. The equatorial Ni-P bond length is shorter than the axial bond lengths.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(3)F(5)O(2))(C(3)H(9)OP)(4)](C(3)F(5)O(2)), comprises a cationic Cu(II) complex and a disordered penta-fluoro-propionate counter-ion. The metal atom has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination environment formed by four O atoms originating from trimethyl-phosphine oxide mol-ecules and the remaining one belonging to the monodentate penta-fluoro-propionate anion, which is situated in the basal plane of the pyramid. The mol-ecules are held together in the crystal by a net of weak C-H?O and C-H?F hydrogen bonds. The counter anion is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.629?(5):0.371?(5) ratio.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(15)H(17)Cl(2)N(3)O)(4)], the Co(II) cation lies on an inversion center and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by four N atoms from four diniconazole [systematic name: (E)-(RS)-1-(2,4-dichloro-phen-yl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)pent-1-en-3-ol] ligands. The axial sites are occupied by two Cl(-) anions. In the two independent organic ligands, the triazole ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 18.28 (14) and 32.15 (14)° with respect to the dichloro-phenyl ring. Inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing.

(2002 ▶). Acta Cryst. B58, 52-61], confirms that four bulky trimethyl-stannyl ligands surround the central Ge atom (site symmetry 1) in a tetra-hedral coordination.

Project description:The title compound, cis-[RuCl(2)(C(3)H(9)P)(4)]·2C(6)H(6), contains a complex mol-ecule with a crystallographic mirror plane passing through the Ru(II) atom, the two cis-disposed Cl ligands and two P atoms of the two cis-disposed P(CH(3))(3) ligands. The Ru(II) atom adopts a distorted octa-hedral RuCl(2)P(4) coordination geometry with the two trans-disposed P atoms occupying the axial positions. The packing of the structure is accomplished through non-classical C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between the benzene solvent mol-ecule and one of the Cl ligands.
