ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Mg(2)(C(7)H(10)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(6)](n), the Mg(II) ion is coordinated by three aqua ligands and three O atoms from three heptanedioato ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Each heptanedioato ligand bridges three Mg atoms, generating polymeric layers parallel to the bc plane. The polymeric layers related by translation along the a axis inter-act further via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(4)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(6)](n), comprises two Li(+) ions bridged by a completely deprotonated pyrimidine-3,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and coordinated by two water mol-ecules; the asymmetric units related by an inversion operation create a structural unit which forms part of a two-dimensional polymeric structure parallel to (10-1). One of the Li(+) ions shows a distorted tetra-hedral arrangement involving two symmetry-related coordinating water mol-ecules and two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The other Li(+) ion is in distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry defined by N and O atoms of the ligands and a water mol-ecule. Water O atoms are proton donors to carboxyl-ate O atoms forming hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The polymeric structure of the title compound, {[Ca2(C6H2N2O4)2(H2O)6]·2H2O} n , is built up of mol-ecular layers composed of Ca(II) ions bridged by both ligand N and O atoms with one of the O atoms being bis-monodentate. Two adjacent Ca(II) ions are bridged by these O atoms, forming a centrosymmetric dimer which is the building unit of the structure. The dimers are nodes of a cross-linked mol-ecular layer parallel to (101). The Ca(II) ion is coordinated by two bidentate ligands, one monodentate ligand and three water mol-ecules in the form of a distorted polyhedron with a coordination number of eight. Solvate water mol-ecules located between adjacent layers participate as donors and acceptors in a system of hydrogen bonds in which coordinating water mol-ecules also act as donors and non-coordinating carboxyl-ate O atoms act as acceptors.

Project description:In the layered title coordination polymer, {[Ba(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(7)](C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)}(n), the coordination geometries around the two independent Ba(II) ions can be described as bicapped square-anti-prismatic [BaNO(9)] arrangements. A two-dimensional polymeric framework with (6,3) topology can be observed in the ac plane, the nodes being provided by Ba(II) ions and the connectors being N and O atoms belonging to pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and O atoms of bridging water mol-ecules. Non-coordinating pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ions are located between the polymeric layers in the crystal and are interconnected through extensive O-H⋯N,O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[MgNa?(C??H?O?)?(H?O)?]·2H?O}(n), contains one octa-hedrally coordin-ated Mg(II) atom (site symmetry 2/m), one octahedrally coordinated Na(I) atom (site symmetry 2) and one half of the dihydrogen benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate (btec) ligand, the second half of the ligand being generated by a twofold rotation axis. The basic framework of the title compound features infinite (-Na-Na-Mg-)(n) chains along [10-1] with the metal cations bridged by the coordinating water molecules. The chains are isolated from each other by ??-bridging btec ligands, which form inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds to uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the coordinated water mol-ecules of a neighbouring chain. In each btec ligand, there are also intramolecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Dipotassium hexa-aqua-nickel(II) bis-[hexa-fluoridozirconate(IV)].

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, K(2)[Ni(H(2)O)(6)][ZrF(6)](2), were grown by slow evaporation of a 40% aqueous HF solution in which a stoichiometric mixture of NiCl(2)·6H(2)O, ZrF(4) and KCl was dissolved. The monoclinic structure is isotypic with its K(2)Cu, K(2)Zn, Cs(2)Zn and Cs(2)Cu analogues. The structure is built up from isolated, slightly elongated octa-hedral [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) complex cations (symmetry ) and dimeric [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex anions (symmetry ) that are also isolated from each other. The [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) anion results from the association of two distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal [ZrF(7)] coordination polyhedra by sharing an equatorial edge passing through an inversion center of the unit cell. Both isolated [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) and [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex ions are situated in planes parallel to (010). They are connected by the eight-coordinated K(+) ions into a three-dimensional structure. An intricate O-H?F hydrogen-bonding network consolidates the structure.

Project description:The title compound, (CH6N3)7H9[PtMo6O24]2·7H2O, containing the well-known Anderson-type heteropolyoxomolybdate, was obtained by recrystallization of its powdered guanidinium salt. The protonated O atoms in the polyanion were confirmed by electron-density maps, inter-polyanion hydrogen bonds and bond-valance sums (BVS). The {[H4.5PtMo6O24]2}(7-) polyanion is the same as that already characterized in K7[H4.5PtMo6O24]2·11H2O [space group P-1; Lee & Joo (2010 ▶). Acta Cryst. E66, i8-i9]. The heteropolyanions form inversion-generated dimers, {[H4.5PtMo6O24]2}(7-), held together by each of the four μ3-O-H⋯μ1-O, two μ2-O-H⋯μ2-O hydrogen bonds and one centrosymmetric μ3-O-H-μ3-O hydrogen bond. The H atom of the centrosymmetric hydrogen bond is located on an inversion centre. One guanidinium ion and one water mol-ecule are equally disordered about a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(8)N(4))[Mn(H(2)O)(6)](SO(4))(2), was obtained by cocrystallization of 2,2'-biimidazolium sulfate and bis-(tetra-butyl-ammonium) tetra-chlorido-manganate(II). The asymmetric unit contains one isolated (SO(4))(2-) anion, one half of an octa-hedral [Mn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) dication and one half of a 2,2'-biimidazolium dication, each of which lies on an inversion centre. Mol-ecules are connected by a three-dimensional N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn3(C12H6O12)(H2O)6] n , comprises one Mn(II) ion, one third of a cyclo-hexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexa-carboxyl-ate anion and two aqua ligands. The anion is completed by application of a -3 axis. The Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated by six O atoms from two aqua ligands and three different cyclo-hexa-carboxyl-ate anions in an octa-hedral geometry. The six carboxyl-ate groups adopt a bridging bidentate mode to ligate the Mn(II) ions. Thus, each cyclo-hexane-1,2,3,4,5,6-hexa-carboxyl-ate anion adopts a ?9-connected mode, ligating nine different Mn(II) ions and forming a three-dimensional framework. In the framework, there are strong O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, which further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title heterometallic coordination polymer, [Cu(3)Eu(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(6)(H(2)O)(6)](n), contains one Eu(III) and two Cu(II) atoms, three pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylate (pdc)(2-) anions and three water molecules. One Cu(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is N,O-chelated by two pdc(2-) anions in the equatorial plane and further coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two pdc anions in the axial positions, with an elongated octa-hedral geometry [Cu-O = 2.409?(3)?Å in the axial direction]; the other Cu atom is N,O-chelated by two pdc anions in the coordination basal plane and coordinated by a carboxyl O atom at the apical position with a distorted square-pyramidal geometry [Cu-O = 2.359?(3)?Å in the apical direction]. The Eu atom is eight-coordinated with a distorted square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by five carboxyl-ate O atoms from five pdc anions and three water mol-ecules. The carboxyl-ate anions bridge adjacent Eu and Cu atoms, forming the coordination polymer. Inter- and intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs in the structure. ?-? stacking further consolidates the crystal structure, the centroid-centroid distance between parallel pyridine rings being 3.367?(2)?Å.
