(Dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)trimeth-yl(2-methyl-3,5-dinitro-benzoato-?O)tin(IV).

ABSTRACT: In the title mononuclear complex, [Sn(CH(3))(3)(C(7)H(5)N(2)O(6))(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) ion is coordinated by three methyl groups in the equatorial plane, and by an O atom from a 2-methyl-3,5-dinitrobenzoate ligand and a dimethyl sulfoxide ligand in the axial sites, to form a slightly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The O atoms of one of the nitro groups are disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancies of 0.55?(4) and 0.45?(4). The closest inter-molecular inter-action is a weak C-H?O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Ce(C(7)H(3)N(2)O(6))(3)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)](n), exists as a linear chain along [111] as the three dinitro-benzoate anions each engages in bridging adjacent dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) coordinated Ce(III) atoms. The metal atoms are surrounded by eight O atoms in a square-anti-prismatic environment. There are two independent formula units in the asymmetric unit. The S atoms of two of the four DMSO mol-ecules are disordered in a 0.926?(3):0.074?(3) ratio.

Project description:In the structure of the title coordination polymer, [K(C(8)H(5)N(2)O(6))](n), each ligand bridges six K(+) cations. The carboxyl-ate group coordinates both bidentately to one K(+) ion and monodentately to two K(+) ions, while one nitro group coordinates bidentately to a fourth K(+) ion. The last two K(+) ions are coordinated by the remaining nitro group, one in a bidentate fashion, the other monodentately through one O atom. This bridging mode results in a three-dimensional network. The coordination geometry of the K(+) ion is represented by an irregular KO(9) polyhedron. Very weak C-H?O inter-actions are observed in the crystal structure.
