ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Sn(C(2)H(2)O(2)S)(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)], the mercaptoacetato ligands chelate to Sn(IV) through S and one O atoms. The metal centre is also coordinated by two dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) ligands through the O atom, leading to an overall distorted octahedral coordination environment for the Sn(IV) atom. The mol-ecular adduct lies on a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Sn(C(6)H(5))(3)Cl(C(2)H(6)OS)], the Sn(IV) atom is coordinated by three phenyl groups, a chloride ion and a dimethyl sulfoxide mol-ecule in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions and π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.934 (3) Å. An intra-molecular C-H⋯π inter-action is also observed.

Project description:In the title complex, [Mn(3)(CH(3)CO(2))(6)(C(2)H(6)SO)(2)](n), the Mn(II) ions exhibit similar MnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometries but with different coordination environments. One type of Mn(II) ion is surrounded by five acetate groups and a terminal dimethyl sulfoxide group, while the other lies on a twofold axis and is coordinated by six O atoms from three symmetry-related acetate ions. The acetate anions exhibit three independent bridging modes, which flexibly bridge the Mn(II) ions along the c-axis direction, forming an infinite chain structure; the chains are further inter-connected through weak C-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The equatorial plane is defined by two chelating chloro-acetate ligands with asymmetrical Sn-O bond lengths, while the axial positions are occupied by the C atoms of two 2-fluoro-benzyl groups. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Sn(CH(3))(2)(C(6)H(7)N(2)S)(2)], contains two independent mol-ecules with similar configurations. In each, the Sn(IV) cation is coordinated by two methyl and two 4,6-dimethyl-pyrimidine-2-thiol-ate anions in a distorted SnS(2)C(2) tetra-hedral geometry. In the two mol-ecules, the S-Sn-S bond angles are 87.70 (5) and 88.93 (4)°, while the C-Sn-C bond angles are 125.7 (3) and 125.9 (2)°. Weak C-H⋯N hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure.

Project description:The SnIV atom in the title diorganotin compound, [Sn(C7H6F)2Cl2(C2H6OS)2], is located on a centre of inversion, resulting in the C2Cl2O2 donor set having an all-trans disposition of like atoms. The coordination geometry approximates an octa-hedron. The crystal features C-H⋯F, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯π inter-actions, giving rise to a three-dimensional network. The respective influences of the Cl⋯H/H⋯Cl and F⋯H/H⋯F contacts to the mol-ecular packing are clearly evident from the analysis of the Hirshfeld surface.

Monoclinic polymorph of chlorido-(dimethyl sulfoxide-κO)tri-phenyl-tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title tin complex, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(C2H6OS)], (I), has been reported with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit in an ortho-rhom-bic cell [Kumar et al. (2009 ▸). Acta Cryst. E65, m1602-m1603]. While using SnPh3Cl as a starting material for a reaction for which the products were recrystallized over a very long time (six months) from dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a new polymorph was obtained for (I), with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of a monoclinic cell. The coordination geometry of the Sn centres remains unchanged, with the Cl- ion and the DMSO mol-ecule in the apical positions and the phenyl C atoms in the equatorial positions of a trigonal bipyramid. The main difference between the polymorphs is the relative orientation of the phenyl rings in the equatorial plane, reflecting a degree of free rotation of these groups about their Sn-C bonds. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into [010] chains mediated by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Crystal structure of ?-oxalato-?2O1:O2-bis-[(dimethyl sulfoxide-?O)tri-phenyl-tin(IV)].

Project description:In the previously reported [C2O4(SnPh3)2] complex [Diop et al. (2003 ?). Appl. Organomet. Chem.17, 881-882.], the SnIV atoms are able to formally complete their coordination by addition of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) mol-ecules provided by the reaction medium, affording the title complex, [Sn2(C6H5)6(C2O4)(C2H6OS)2]. The SnIV atoms are then penta-coordinated, with a common trans trigonal-bipyramidal arrangement. The asymmetric unit contains one half-mol-ecule, which is completed by inversion symmetry in space group type C2/c. The inversion centre is placed at the mid-point of the central bis-monodentate oxalate dianion, C2O42-, which bridges the [(SnPh3)(DMSO)] moieties. The mol-ecule crystallizes as a disordered system, with two phenyl rings disordered by rotation about their Sn-C bonds, while the DMSO mol-ecule is split over two positions due to a tetra-hedral inversion at the S atom. All disordered parts were refined with occupancies fixed of 0.5.
