2-(Naphthalen-1-yl-amino)-cyclo-hexa-nol.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(16)H(19)NO, was synthesized under solvent-free conditions by reaction of 7-oxa-bicyclo-[4.1.0]heptane and naphthalen-1-amine in the presence of Ca(CF(3)COO)(2) as catalyst. The cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions into chains parallel to the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, C(16)H(19)NO(2), contains two mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Each mol-ecule is composed of three inter-connected rings, two essentially planar rings, viz. the isoxazole and the methyl-benzyl aromatic ring [maximum deviations of 0.0027?(13) and 0.0031?(19)?Å from the isoxazole and methylbenzyl ring planes, respectively, in the first molecule, 0.0018?(12) and 0.019?(2)?Å in the second molecule], and one cyclo-hexa-nol ring having a chair conformation. Although the two mol-ecules have similar bond distances and angles, they differ in the orientation of the cyclo-hexa-nol ring with respect to the tolyl-isoxazole unit. In the first mol-ecule, the dihedral angle between the isoxazole and methyl-benzyl rings is 22.03?(8)° and between the isoxazole and cyclo-hexa-nol rings is 30.15?(8)°. The corresponding values in the second mol-ecule are 6.13?(10) and 88.44?(8)°, respectively. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, building up a zigzag chain parallel to the a axis.

Project description:The title compound, C18H21NO4S, is a new sulfonamide derivative of tranexamic acid. In the crystal, mol-ecules form inversion dimers via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the carb-oxy-lic acid groups. Hydrogen bonding between the sulfonamide N-H group and the carb-oxy-lic acid O atom assembles the dimers into thick layers parallel to (100). The naphthalene groups of adjacent layers are arranged in a herring-bone motif. There are C-H⋯π inter-actions between the naphthalene rings of neighbouring layers.

Project description:The title compound, C18H20N2OS, displays whole-mol-ecule disorder over two adjacent sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.630 (11):0.370 (11). In each disorder component, the cyclo-hexyl ring shows a chair conformation with the exocyclic C-C bond in an equatorial orientation. The dihedral angles between the cyclo-hexyl ring (all atoms) and the naphthyl ring system are 36.9 (6) for the major component and 20.7 (12)° for the minor component. Each component features an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which closes an S(5) ring. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds generate R (2) 2(8) loops for both components. Aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid separation = 3.593 (9) Å] and a C-H⋯π inter-action are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(19)BrN(4)O, represents the minor component of the two products obtained in a series of transformations involving the Grignard reaction of tert-butoxy-carbonyl-protected 4-amino-cyclo-hexa-none with MeMgBr, and subsequent inter-action of the obtained amino-substituted cyclo-hexa-nol with 4-chloro-6-methyl-pyrimidin-2-amine followed by bromination with N-bromo-succinimide. The X-ray structure showed that this product represents a trans isomer with respect to the amino and hydr-oxy substituents in the cyclo-hexyl ring; the dihedral angle between the amino-pyrimidine plane and the (noncrystallographic) mirror plane of the substituted cyclo-hexyl fragment is 33.6?(3)°. Only two of the four potentially 'active' H atoms participate in inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, linking the mol-ecules into layers parallel to the (10) plane.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(12)H(14)ClNO, was determined in order to confirm that the chiral center of the mol-ecule has an S configuration. The cyclo-hexa-none ring adopts a chair conformation. The 2-chloro-phenyl ring is slightly twisted from the axial C-N bond, with a N-C-C-C torsion angle of -5.7?(2)°. In the crystal, an inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond links adjacent mol-ecules into an infinite chain, which propagates in the b-axis direction.

In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, generating C(13) head-to-tail chains extending along the base vector [103]. R(2) (2)(26) ring motifs are formed due to the C-H⋯·O inter-actions that link neighbouring chains. There also exist π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.6925 (12) Å] between the symmetry-related pyridine rings of one of the independent mol-ecules.
