Catena-Poly[[cadmium-bis-(μ-triethyl-ene-tetra-mine-κN,N':N'',N''')-cadmium-(μ-triethyl-ene-tetra-mine-κN,N':N'',N''')] hexa-fluoridogermanate].

ABSTRACT: The title fluoridogermanate, {[Cd(2)(C(6)H(18)N(4))(3)][GeF(6)]}(n), was synthesized hydro-thermally. The crystal structure comprises undulated cationic [Cd(2)(TETA)(3)](4+) chains (TETA is triethyl-ene-tetra-mine) propagating parallel to [101]. The central Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated in a CdN(6) set by three TETA ligands. The isolated [GeF(6)](2-) units, serving as counter-anions, occupy the inter-chain spaces and simultaneously link adjacent chains into a three-dimensional network through extensive N-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. One of the ethyl-ene bridges of one TETA ligand is disordered around a twofold rotation axis.

The hmt ligands bridge the Ag atoms, forming a chain along [001]. The carboxyl-ate group of the 4-pdc ligand is uncoordinated. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups stabilize the structure.

Project description:In the title polymeric compound, [Cu2(HCO2)4(C6H12N4)] n , the Cu(II) atom is five-coordinated in a square-pyramidal geometry that is defined by four O atoms from four formate ligands and one N atom from a hexa-methyl-ene-tetra-mine ligand. The two Cu(II) atoms are separated by 2.6850 (7) Å, and together with the four formate ligands they form a paddle-wheel unit. The hexa-mine ligand uses only two of its four N atoms to link Cu2 cluster units, affording a zigzag chain running along the b-axis direction. The hexa-mine ligand lies on a mirror plane.

Project description:There are three Ag(I) cations, three p-toluene-sulfonate (pts) anions, three hexa-methyl-ene-tetra-mine (hmt) mol-ecules and four water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title coordination polymer, {[Ag(3)(C(7)H(7)O(3)S)(3)(C(6)H(12)N(4))(3)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O}(n). Two of the pts anions show positional disorder of their O atoms in 0.60:0.40 and 0.50:0.50 ratios. The Ag(I) ion is coordinated by three hmt mol-ecules in an approximate trigonal-planar AgN(3) arrangement. In each case, longer Ag-O bonds to a water mol-ecule and a pts anion complete a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal AgN(3)O(2) geometry for the metal ion. In the crystal, the bridging hmt mol-ecules and pts ions generate a wave-like layer parallel to (001) and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions consolidate the packing.

The 1,4-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-yl)butane ligand is centrosymmetric, the mid-point of the central C-C bond being located on an inversion center. It links adjacent water-coordinated metal atoms into polymeric chains running along the c axis. Adjacent chains are linked by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The S atom of the sulfate anion is located on a twofold rotation axis, thus the sulfate anion is equally disordered over two sites. The sulfate anion links with the polymeric chains via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.
