Dichlorido[1-(2,6-dimethyl-phenyl-imino)-1,2-diphenyl-propan-2-ol-?N,O]palladium(II) methanol monosolvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(23)H(23)NO)]·CH(3)OH, was obtained by the reaction of 1-(2,6-dimethyl-phenyl-imino)-1,2-diphenyl-propan-2-ol and palladium chloride in methanol. The Pd atom is four-coordinated by the O atom of a tertiary alcohol, the imine N atom of the hy-droxy-limine part of the bidentate ligand and by two chloride ions, forming a nearly square-planar geometry. The complex mol-ecule and the uncoordinated methanol mol-ecule are connected via an O-H?O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(15)N(2))[LaCl(4)(CH(3)OH)(C(3)H(7)OH)], consists of one 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium (BMI(+)) cation and one hexa-hedral tetra-chlorido(methanol)(propan-2-ol)lanthanate anion. The La(III) ion is eight-coordinate, with the La(III) ion bridged by a pair of Cl atoms, so forming chains propagating along the a-axis direction. Each La(III) ion is further coordinated by two isolated Cl atoms, one methanol and one propan-2-ol mol-ecule. The coordinated methanol and propan-2-ol mol-ecules of the anion form O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of inversion-related anions. The BMI(+) cation froms C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds with the Cl atoms of the anion. The anions are located in the C faces of the triclinic unit cell, with an inversion center in the middle of the La(2)Cl(2) ring of the polymeric chain.

Project description:The central imidazole ring of the title compound, C24H20Cl2N2O, is twisted with respect to with the planes of the 2,6-di-chloro-benzene and two phenyl rings, making dihedral angles of 74.06?(18), 28.52?(17) and 67.65?(18)°, respectively. The phenyl ring not adjacent to the N-bonded 2-hy-droxy-propyl group shows the greatest twist, presumably to minimize steric inter-actions. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bond contacts into chains along the a-axis direction. The series of parallel chains form a two-dimensional sheet approximately parallel to the bc diagonal. In addition, C-H?? inter-actions are observed between the sheets. The atoms of the 2-hy-droxy-propyl group and the N atom of the 1H-imidazole ring to which it is bonded are disordered over two sets of sites, with an occupancy ratio of 0.722?(5):0.278?(5). The structure was refined as an inversion twin.

The dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers due to an inter-molecular C-H?O inter-action. The crystal structure is further stabilized through two inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions.

One ferrocenyl ring of one complex mol-ecule is disordered over two sites with half-occupancy for each component. Both Pd(II) cations adopt a distorted square-planar coordination geometry with a bidentate [2-(diphenyl-phosphino)phenyl-imino-meth-yl]ferrocene ligand and two chloride anions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pd(2)Cl(4)(C(8)H(6)N(4))]·C(3)H(7)NO, the two Pd(2+) cations have a distorted square-planar coordination sphere and are bridged by a bis-bidentate 2,2'-bipyrimidine ligand. Two terminal chloride anions are also bonded to each of the Pd(2+) cations. The dinuclear complex and the dimethylformamide solvate molecule lie on the inter-section of a twofold rotation axis and a mirror plane, with disorder present in the solvate mol-ecule. There is a slight distortion from the square-planar metal geometry, as indicated by the bite angles of 81.77?(13)° and 91.63?(5)°. The C and O atoms of the solvent mol-ecule are disordered over two sets of sites of equal occupancy.
