(E)-N-(Ferrocenyl-methyl-idene)(pyridin-3-yl)methanamine.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(12)H(11)N(2))], the cyclo-penta-dienyl rings are present in an eclipsed conformation. The imine is E-configured. In the crystal, C-H?N inter-actions involving both N atoms connect the mol-ecules into two undulating sheets perpendicular to the b axis. The centroid-centroid distance between the two aromatic systems in the ferrocenyl moiety is 3.2928?(18)?Å. A C-H?? inter-action is also present.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title mol-ecule, C8H9N3S2, both of which exhibit an E conformation with the pyridine ring and di-thio-carbazate fragment located on opposite sides of the C=N bond. The pyridine ring and di-thio-carbazate group are approximately coplanar, with dihedral angles of 4.74?(1) and 8.77?(1)° between their planes in the two mol-ecules. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked to each other via N-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming zigzag chains parallel to [10-1].

Project description:The asymetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C17H13N2)], contains two independent mol-ecules whose conformations differ, especially in the 4-{(pyridin-4-yl)methyl-idene]amino}-phenyl unit where one is flipped by almost 180°. The cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocene unit also exhibit different staggered conformations: in one mol-ecule the conformation is staggered by 9.43?(2)° and in the other by 24.46?(1)° from an ideal eclipsed geometry. The plane of the benzene ring is tilted away from the ferrocene group in both mol-ecules, with dihedral angles of 6.97?(1) and 10.30?(2)°. The benzene ring is also slightly twisted from the plane of the pyridine ring, with dihedral angles of 5.98?(2) and 6.51?(2)° in the two mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title salt co-crystal, [Ag(C(6)H(5)N(2)O)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)]ClO(4)·[Ag(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], the asymmetric unit comprises a [Ag(LH)(2)](+) cation, a perchlorate anion and a neutral (LH)AgL mol-ecule, where LH is pyridine-2-carboxaldoxime. Both silver-containing species feature N,N'-chelating LH and L ligands, which define an N(4) donor set that is highly distorted [dihedral angles between AgC(2)N(2) chelate rings = 45.7?(3) and 44.3?(2)°, respectively] owing, in part, to the close approach of a neighbouring Ag atom, leading to an argentophilic inter-action [Ag?Ag = 3.1868?(11)?Å]. The mol-ecular conformations are stabilized by intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, O-H?O inter-actions lead to supra-molecular chains along [010]. The anion connects three Ag(I) atoms through its O and two N-donor atoms. One neutral ligand functions in a monodentate mode; the other functions in a bridging mode, binding though its two N atoms. The coordination geometry of the two independent metal atoms is T-shaped; the manner of bridging gives rise to a layer motif parallel to (100). In the crystal, the nitrate ion is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio, and is sandwiched between adjacent layers. O-H?O hydrogen bonding is present between nitrate ions and layers, and also between adjacent layers.

Project description:The title Schiff base compound, C25H20N2, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. In both mol-ecules, the imine group is approximately coplanar with the pyridine ring, with N-C-C-N torsion angles of 170.1?(3) and -172.0?(3)?Å. In the crystal, A and B dimers are linked by pairs of C-H?? inter-actions and further C-H?? bonds link the dimers into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(10)FN(3)O·H(2)O, exists in the E conformation with respect to the azomethane C=N double bond. The mol-ecule is close to planar with a maximum deviation of 0.286 (2) Å. The pyridine ring is essentially coplanar with the central C(= O)N(2)C unit [dihedral angle = 2.02 (3)°] and the phenyl ring exhibits a dihedral angle of 14.41 (10)° with respect to the central unit. The crystal structure features O-H⋯N, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bond inter-actions between the solvent water and the benzohydrazide mol-ecules, as well as C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-F⋯π [3.0833 (18) Å] inter-actions.
