ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(10)H(10)N(2)O(2), all non-H atoms are approximately co-planar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.016?Å. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by pairs of N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Chains along [010] are buiilt up by ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.602?(1)?Å] between the benzene and piperazine rings of adjacent mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(18)H(16)N(2)O(3), the five-membered ring has an envelope conformation, with the substituted C atom deviating by 0.342 (4) Å from the mean plane P calculated for the remainder of the non-H atoms of the 2,3-dihydro-1H-indene fragment. The mean planes of quinazoline-2,4(1H,3H)-dione fragment and P form a dihedral angle of 59.08 (4)°. In the crystal, pairs of N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into inversion dimers, and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between the benzene rings of the quinazoline ring systems [centroid-centroid distance = 3.538 (3) Å] further consolidate the packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(14)H(14)N(2)O(2), comprises two independent mol-ecules, which slightly differ in the orientation of the propargyl chain. In both molecules, the diazepine ring adopts a boat conformation with the propargyl-bearing C atom as the prow and the C atoms at the ring junction as the stern. The carbonyl O atom of one independent mol-ecule is hydrogen bonded to the acetyl-enic H atom of the other independent mol-ecule. In the crystal, symmetry-related mol-ecules are linked together by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a ribbon-like structure along the c axis.

Project description:Uracil, the pyrimidine nucleobase, which combined with adenine forms one of the major motifs present in the biopolymer RNA, is also involved in the self-assembly of RNA. In the title compound, C(9)H(14)N(4)O(2)·2H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains one dimethyl-amino-uracil group and two water mol-ecules. The plane of the N=C-NMe(2) side chain is inclined at 27.6?(5)° to the plane of the uracil ring. Both water mol-ecules form O-H?O hydrogen bonds with the carbonyl O atoms of the uracil group. Additional water-water hydrogen-bond inter-actions are also observed in the crystal structure. The O-H?O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network cage consisting of two dimethyl-amino-uracil groups and six water mol-ecules.

The n-propyl chain links the quinazolinedione heterocycle and the phenyl-piperazine group in which the benzene ring is equatorially located and the piperazine ring has the expected chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene ring and the quinazolinedione ring system is 74.1?(1)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers through R 2 (2)(8) hydrogen-bonded rings involving the amine and one carbonyl group of the quinazolinedione moiety. These dimers are extended into chains extending along the a-axis direction through expanded centrosymmetric cyclic C-H?O associations involving the second carbonyl group, giving R 2 (2)(20) and R 1 (2)(7) motifs.

Project description:In the title compound, C(12)H(13)N(5)O(2), a Schiff-base-derived chelate ligand, the non-aromatic heterocycle and its substituents essentially occupy one common plane (r.m.s. of fitted non-H atoms = 0.0503 Å). The N=C bond is E-configured. Intra-cyclic angles in the pyridine moiety cover the range 117.6 (2)-124.1 (2)°. Intra- and inter-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed in the crystal structure, as are intra- and inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts which, in total, connect the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. The shortest ring-centroid-to-ring-centroid distance of 3.5831 (14) Å is between the two different types of six-membered rings.
