The geometry around the Cu(II) atom is distorted square-pyramidal. The mol-ecules pack in the crystal structure via O-H?Cl, O-H?N, C-H?Cl and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, C-H?? and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances of the pyrimidine-pyridine and pyridine-pyridine inter-actions are 3.750?(3) and 3.850?(3)?Å, respectively], forming sheet-like assemblies.

The distorted octa-hedral trans-N(2)S(4) donor set for the Cd(2+) ion is defined by two symmetrically S,S'-chelating dithio-carbamate anions and two pyridine N atoms derived from two monodentate 4-pyridine-aldazine (or 4-{[(pyridin-4-yl-methyl-idene)hydrazinyl-idene}meth-yl]pyridine) mol-ecules [dihedral angle between the aromatic rings = 17.33?(8)°]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected into a supra-molecular chain via O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the 4-pyridine-aldazine N atoms not involved in coordination to cadmium. Weak C-H?O and C-H?N links consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(12)H(10)N(5)S)(2)]·2CH(3)OH, the Cu(II) ion adopts a slightly dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The hydrazine carbothio-amide moiety and one of the pyridyl rings together adopt an almost planar arrangement, with a maximum deviation of 0.052?(4)?Å for the C atom of the thio-urea moiety. There are two mol-ecules of methanol solvent per complex in the asymmetric unit. The nonconventional intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds make the mol-ecule more rigid, whereas the conventional N-H?N and O-H?Br inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, supported with N-H?? inter-actions, establish a supra-molecular linkage among the mol-ecules in the crystal. An intermolecular C-H?O inter-action is also present.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(15)H(14)N(3)S(2))(2)], consists of two independent mol-ecules with similar configurations. Each Ni(2+) cation is coordinated in a cis-mode by two tridentate N,N',S-chelating Schiff base ligands, creating a distorted octa-hedron [the smallest angle being 77.57?(7)° and the widest being 168.97?(7)° for one mol-ecule, and 78.04?(7) and 167.55?(7)° for the second mol-ecule]. The dihedral angle between the mean coordination planes of the two ligands is 86.76?(7)° for one and 89.99?(7)° for the second mol-ecule. ?-? inter-actions between neighbouring pyridine rings with plane-to-plane distances of 3.540?(1) and 3.704?(1)?Å are observed.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(14)N(6), the amine groups of the two methyl-hydrazino substituents are orientated in the opposite direction to the methyl substituent at the 2-position of the pyrimidine ring. The mol-ecule is almost planar with only the two amine N atoms lying substanti-ally out of the mean plane of the pyrimidine ring [by 0.1430?(2) and 0.3092?(2)?Å]. The H atoms on these amine groups point inwards towards the aromatic ring, such that the lone pair of electrons points outwards from the mol-ecule. Each mol-ecule is linked to two others through N-H?N hydrogen bonds between the two amino groups, forming a one-dimensional chain in the [010] direction. Offset face-to-face ?-? stacking inter-actions between the pyrimidine rings organize these chains into a two-dimensional array [centroid-centroid distance = 3.789?(2)?Å].

Project description:A tetra-nuclear ZnII complex, [Zn4(C13H11N6O)2Cl6(H2O)2] or {[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl2)](?Cl)2[Zn2(HL)(H2O)(Cl)]}2, was synthesized by mixing an equimolar amount of a methanol solution containing ZnCl2 and a methanol solution containing the ligand H2 L [1,5-bis-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-ene)carbono-hydrazide]. In the tetra-nuclear complex, each of the two ligand mol-ecules forms a dinuclear unit that is connected to another dinuclear unit by two bridging chloride anions. In each dinuclear unit, one ZnII cation is penta-coordinated in a N2OCl2 in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry, while the other ZnII cation is hexa-coordinated in a N3OCl2 environment with a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The basal plane around the penta-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one oxygen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical position occupied by a chloride anion. The basal plane of the hexa-coordinated ZnII cation is formed by one chloride anion, one hydrazinyl nitro-gen atom, one imino nitro-gen atom and one pyridine nitro-gen atom with the apical positions occupied by a water oxygen atom and a bridged chloro anion from another dinuclear unit, leading to a tetra-nuclear complex. A series of intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds is observed in each tetra-nuclear unit. In the crystal, the tetra-nuclear units are connected by inter-molecular C-H?Cl, C-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a planar two-dimensional structure in the ac plane.

The angle between the mean planes of the coordinating moieties of the two symmetry-related tridentate ligands is 83.3?(2)°. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H?S hydrogen bonds, ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.775?(9)?Å] and C-H?? inter-actions. The hydrogen-bonding inter-actions lead to the formation of layers parallel to (010); ?-? inter-actions link these layers into a three-dimensional network.
