Bis[N,N-bis-(1-allyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmethyl-?N)benzyl-amine-?N]cadmium dipicrate.

ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(C(29)H(29)N(5))(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2), consists of Cd(II) complex cations and picrate anions. In the complex cation, the Cd(II) ion is chelated by two bis-(1-allyl-benzimidazol-2-ylmeth-yl)benzyl-amine (babb) ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Extensive C-H?O hydrogen bonding occurs between cations and anions in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(18)H(18)N(4)O)(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·1.5CH(3)CN·0.25H(2)O, the Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two tridentate 1,3-bis-(1-methyl-1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-2-oxopropane ligands in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. The lengths of the chemically equivalent Cd-O bonds [2.4850?(16) and 2.5488?(16)Å] are signiificantly different. One of the picrate anions is disordered over two sets of sites, with refined occupancies of 0.504?(15) and 0.496?(15). A 0.5-occupancy acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two sites with equal occupancies. The H atoms of a 0.25-occupancy solvent water mol-ecule were neither located nor included in the refinement.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(30)H(26)N(4)O)(2)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO, the Zn(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment involving four equatorial N atoms and two O atoms in axial sites. The dihedral angles between the benzimidazole ring system and the phenyl rings in each of the benzyl-benzimidazole units are 78.56?(12), 81.68?(11), 75.76?(10) and 85.78?(9)°. In the crystal structure, there are weak but significant inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.685?(1) and 3.978?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H16N2O, the fused benzimidazol-2(3H)-one system is essentially planar, the largest deviation from the mean plane being 0.006?(2)?Å for the carbonyl C atom. Its mean plane is almost perpendicular to the benzyl plane and to the allyl group, making dihedral angles of 80.6?(1) and 77.4?(3)°, respectively. The benzyl group and the allyl subsituent lie on opposite sides of the fused ring system. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by bifurcated C-H?O hydrogen bonds in which the carbonyl O atom acts as accepter to two aromatic C-H groups, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (001).

In the crystal structure, the picrate anions and solvent dimethyl-formamide (DMF) mol-ecules are connected to the cation via inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. One of the DMF moleclues is disordered over two sites with refined occupancies of 0.737?(3) and 0.263?(3).

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(27)H(27)N(7))(C(3)H(7)NO)(H(2)O)](C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2), the Ni(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination evironment by an NiN(4)O(2) ligand set. The tris-(N-methyl-benzimidazol-2-ylmeth-yl)amine ligand is in a tetra-dentate mode while a coordinated water molecule and a dimethyl-formamide ligand complete the coordination. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cation and one of the pictrate anions into four-component centrosymmetric clusters.

In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?N hydrogen bonds from the secondary nitro-gen N-H donor to the tertiary N-atom acceptor of a symmetry-related neighbour, resulting in hydrogen-bonded chains.
