Catena-Poly[(triaqua-cadmium)-μ-5-hy-droxy-isophthalato-κO,O:O].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(5))(H(2)O)(3)](n), a one-dimensional chain complex of 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate with Cd(II), was prepared by a hydro-thermal reaction. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by three water O atoms and three carboxyl-ate O atoms of two different 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate ligands, which act as bidentate and monodentate ligands. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(5))(C(12)H(12)N(2))], the Cd(II) cation is coordinated by three 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions and one 5,5'-bimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted CdO(4)N(2) octa-hedral geometry. The 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate anions bridge the Cd cations, forming a two-dimensional polymeric complex parallel to (100). In the complex, the hy-droxy group is linked to the uncoordinated carb-oxy-O atom via an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are also present in the crystal structure. One of the methyl groups is disordered over two positions in a 0.536 (11):0.464 (11) ratio.

The chain motifs are oriented parallel to the c-axis direction. Individual chains are connected into a supra-molecular network via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding involving the aqua ligands.

Project description:The structure of the polymeric title complex, {[Cd(C(6)H(6)N(2)O(6))(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), consists of chains running parallel to [01] in which the oxamidato ligand, deprotonated only at the carboxyl-ate groups, acts as a bridging bis-monodentate ligand. The Cd atom and the O atom of a coordinated water mol-ecule are located on a twofold axis. The coordination geometry around the Cd atom is distorted trigonal-pyramidal. In the crystal structure, neighbouring chains are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-chain O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric compound, {[Pb(C(7)H(5)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), the Pb(II) ion is chelated by two carboxyl-ate groups of 3-hy-droxy-benzoate (HB) anions, and coordinated by one isonicotinamide mol-ecule; a carboxyl-ate O atom and a hy-droxy O atom from adjacent HB anions bridge the Pb(II) ion to form polymeric chains along [100], in which the Pb(II) ion is in an irregular seven-coordination geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the HB ions are slightly twisted away from the attached benzene rings by 2.84 (15) and 4.8 (2)°. The planes of the two benzene rings of the HB ions are oriented with respect to each other at a dihedral angle of 84.41 (8)°. In the crystal, adjacent polymeric chains inter-act via O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The solvent water mol-ecule links with the polymeric chains via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. π-π stacking between the benzene and pyridine rings and between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.731 (2) and 3.353 (2) Å] are present in the crystal.

The asymmetric unit contains two Cd(II) ions, two pyrazino-[2,3-f][1,10]phenanthroline, two 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate (hip) ligands and two lattice water mol-ecules. Each Cd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from a chelating pyrazino-[2,3-f][1,10]phenanthroline and four O atoms from three different hip ligands, resulting in a distorted CdN(2)O(4) octa-hedral coordination environment. The hip ligand connects adjacent Cd(II) ions, forming forming layers parallel to (010). Intralayer O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the hydroxy groups and solvent water molecules consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The hydro-thermal reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate with 5-amino-2,4,6-triiodo-isophthalic acid and pyridine in DMF solution leads to the formation of the title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(2)I(3)NO(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(2)](n). The structure contains a four-coordinate Cd(2+ )ion in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, which lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The Cd(2+ )ion is bonded to two N atoms from two pyridine ligands and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from two 5-amino-2,4,6-triiodo-isophthalate anions. The Cd-O distances are 2.429 (5) and 2.305 (5) Å and the Cd-N distance is 2.236 (8) Å. The two carboxyl-ate groups of individual 5-amino-2,4,6-triiodo-isophthalate anions act as a bridge to the Cd(2+) atoms. leading to a chain structure along the c axis.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(SO(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(H(2)O)(3)](n), was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of NiSO(4)·6H(2)O, pyridine and water. The central Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by a pyridine N atom, three aqua O atoms and two O atoms of bridging sulfate anions, yielding a zigzag chain. A three-dimensional network is generated via complex hydrogen bonds involving the sulfate and aqua ligands and a pyridine C-H group.

Pairs of bridging ammonium-isophthalate ligands connect symmetry-related Mg(II) ions, forming chains along [010]. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional network. Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.
