Catena-Poly[(triaqua-cadmium)-μ-5-hy-droxy-isophthalato-κO,O:O].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Cd(C(8)H(4)O(5))(H(2)O)(3)](n), a one-dimensional chain complex of 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate with Cd(II), was prepared by a hydro-thermal reaction. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by three water O atoms and three carboxyl-ate O atoms of two different 5-hy-droxy-isophthalate ligands, which act as bidentate and monodentate ligands. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(SO(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(H(2)O)(3)](n), was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of NiSO(4)·6H(2)O, pyridine and water. The central Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by a pyridine N atom, three aqua O atoms and two O atoms of bridging sulfate anions, yielding a zigzag chain. A three-dimensional network is generated via complex hydrogen bonds involving the sulfate and aqua ligands and a pyridine C-H group.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mg(C(8)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Mg(II) ion lies on a twofold roatation axis and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. Pairs of bridging ammonium-isophthalate ligands connect symmetry-related Mg(II) ions, forming chains along [010]. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link these chains into a three-dimensional network. The centroids of pairs of symmetry-related benzene rings within a chain are separated by 3.5707 (12) Å.

Project description:In the solid state, the title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(4)H(6)N(2))(2)](n), exhibits the existence of polymeric zigzag chains extending along the a axis. Each Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms [Zn-N = 1.996 (6) and 2.032 (5) Å] and two O atoms [Zn-O = 1.930 (4) and 1.976 (4) Å] in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.

Project description:The title polymeric compound, [Cd(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(3)](n) or [Cd(py-2,3-dc)(H(2)O)(3)](n), where py-2,3-dcH(2) is pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, was obtained by the reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with (pipzH(2))(py-2,3-dc) as a proton-transfer compound in aqueous solution (pipz is piperazine). The mol-ecular structure shows that only the anionic fragment of the starting proton-transfer compound is present in the complex, while the (pipzH(2))(2+) dication has been lost. Each (py-2,3-dc)(2-) ligand bridges two Cd(II) atoms in two different coordination modes, i.e. one end acts as a monodentate and the other end as a bidentate ligand. The three remaining coordination sites on the metal center are occupied by water mol-ecules. The geometric arrangement of the six donor atoms around the Cd(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds play an important role in stabilizing the supra-molecular structure.

One HPAA ligand coordinates just to one Ce(III) ion, whereas the remaining two bridge two Ce(III) ions. The 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule and one water mol-ecule are not coordinated to Ce. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds link mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

In the crystal, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π Contacts between the pyridine rings and between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.770 (1), 3.769 (1) and 3.632 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)](n), there are two symmetry-independent one-dimensional coordination polymers related by a non-crystallographic inversion center. Within the polymers, the Cu(II )atoms, coordinated by the water mol-ecule and the chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands, are bridged by 5-nitro-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate dianions which act as tridentate ligands; the carboxyl-ate groups exhibit monodentate and symmetric bidentate coordination modes. The Cu(II) atoms show a strongly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the two symmetry-independent coordination polymers form another one-dimensional polymeric structure via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups.

Project description:The title compound, [CdCl(2)(C(9)H(11)NO(2))](n), is a coordination polymer prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of cadmium(II) chloride and 3-amino-3-phenyl-propanoic acid. Geometric parameters are in the usual ranges. The cadmium cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by four Cl atoms at equatorial sites and two O atoms from two ligands at the axial sites. The material is composed of one-dimensional extended polymeric chains in which two Cl atoms bridge Cd atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(11)H(6)N(2)O)(H(2)O)(3)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Cd(II) atom is seven-coordinated by two N atoms from the phenanthroline-derived 4,5-diaza-fluorene-9-one ligand, two O atoms from one bidentate benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and three O atoms from the three water mol-ecules in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal arrangement. Moreover, there are two dissociative water mol-ecules in each unit. Neighbouring units inter-act through π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.325 (3) and 3.358 (4) Å] and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding, resulting in a two-dimensional network extending parallel to (001).

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Cd(C(9)H(6)O(4))(C(12)H(10)N(4))(H(2)O)](n), the Cd(II) atom has a NO(6) donor set and is coord-inated by five carboxyl-ate O atoms from three different 5-methyl-1,3-phenyl-enediacetate (pda(2-)) anions, one O atom from a water mol-ecule and one N atom from a 1,4-bis-(1H-imidazol-4-yl)benzene (L) ligand, displaying a highly distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry. Each pda(2-) anion acts as a μ(3)-bridge, linking Cd(II) atoms to form one-dimensional slabs extending parallel to [010]. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are linked through N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
