ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title complex, [Ni(C(6)H(7)NO)(3)](PF(6))(C(2)F(3)O(2)), the Ni(II) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral NiO(3)N(3) coordination geometry with each of the three N and three O atoms in a meridional coordination. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules and the trifluoro-acetate anions are connected via O-H?O hydrogen bonding into layers parallel to the ab plane.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(H(2)NCH(2)CH(2)NH(2))(3)](CF(3)COO)(2), the environment of the Cu atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by six N atoms from three chelating ethane-1,2-diamine ligands. The Cu-N distances range from 2.050 (2) to 2.300 (2) Å. This complex cation and the two trifluoro-acetate anions are connected by weak N-H⋯O and N-H⋯F hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. In both anions, the F atoms are disordered over two positions; in one the site-occupancy factors are 0.55 and 0.45, in the other the values are 0.69 and 0.31.

Project description:The ionic title complex, [Ni(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](SiF(6)), is built up of [Ni(en)(3)](2+) complex cations (en = 1,2-diamino-ethane) and hexa-fluoridosilicate anions. Single crystals of the title complex were isolated from an aqueous-ethano-lic Ni(2+)-en-SiF(6) (2-) system. The Ni(II) and Si atoms are each located on a special position with site symmetry 3.2. The Ni(II) atom coordination sphere is octa-hedrally deformed, being coordinated by three chelating diamine ligands with an Ni-N distance of 2.1233?(18)?Å. The crystal packing of the respective ions corresponds to the structure type of the hexa-gonal form of BN. Beside ionic forces, the packing is governed by N-H?F hydrogen bonds, which lead to the formation of hydro-phobic channels running along the 6(3) screw axis. The structure was refined as an inversion twin [0.49?(3): 0.51?(3)].

Project description:Attempts to prepare the mononuclear [(tpm)Ni(II)L(3)](-1) [tpm = tris-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methane and L = thio-cyanate] anion yielded the methanol-solvated salt, [(tpm)(2)Ni(II)][(tpm)Ni(II)(NCS)(3)](2)·2CH(3)OH or [Ni(C(10)H(10)N(6))(2)][Ni(NCS)(3)(C(10)H(10)N(6))](2)·2CH(3)OH. The asymmetric unit consists of half a centrosymmetric bis-[tris-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methane]-nickel(II) cation and an octa-hedral nickelate(II) anion bound to one tpm and three L ligands, and a methanol solvent mol-ecule. One of the L ligands is disordered over two positions with occupancy factors of 0.650?(3) and 0.350?(3). There are O-H?S inter-actions between the methanol and the disordered thio-cyanate anion, and a weak C-H?O hydrogen bond between the cation and the methanol O atom.

Project description:In the title compound [Ru(2)(C(15)H(11)N(3))(2)(C(24)H(16)N(6))](PF(6))(4)·4CH(3)CN, two of the counter-ions and one of the solvent mol-ecules are disordered with occupancies for the major components between 0.57?(2) and 0.64?(1). The structure of the dinuclear tetracation exhibits significant distortion from planarity in the bridging 2,3,5,6-tetra-kis-(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazine (tppz) ligand, which has a saddle-like geometry with an average dihedral angle of 42.96?(18)° between adjacent pyridine rings. The metal-ligand coordination environment is nearly equivalent for the two Ru(II) atoms, which have a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [157.57?(13)-159.28?(12)°] of their two mer-arranged tridendate ligands [2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) and tppz] orthogonal to each other. At the peripheral tpy ligands, the average Ru-N bond distance is 2.072?(4)?Å for the outer N atoms trans to each other (N(outer)) and 1.984?(1)?Å for the central N atoms (N(central)). At the bridging tppz ligand, the average metal-ligand distances are significantly shorter [2.058?(4)?Å for Ru-N(outer) and 1.965?(1)?Å for Ru-N(central)] as a result of both the geometric constraints and the stronger ?-acceptor ability of the pyrazine-centered bridge. The dihedral angle between the two tpy planes is 27.11?(6)°. The intra-molecular linear distance between the two Ru atoms is 6.6102?(7)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)][Mo(6)O(19)], consists of one complex [(Ni(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)](2+) cation and one Lindqvist-type [Mo(6)O(19)](2-) polyanion. The Ni(2+) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination by six N atoms from three chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands. The Lindqvist-type anion exhibits the characteristic Mo-O bond-length distribution, with the shortest bonds being the Mo-O(terminal) bonds [mean = 1.679?(2)?Å] and the longest being those to the central O atom [mean = 2.318?(7)?Å]. A number of C-H?O inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing.

Project description:The hydro-thermally prepared title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)N(3))(3)](2)[PMo(12)O(40)]·6H(2)O, is a member of the isotypic series [(M(C(8)H(7)N(3))(3)](2)[PMo(12)O(40)]·6H(2)O where M is Mn, Cd, and Fe. The Ni(2+) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral environment, coordinated by six N atoms from three chelating 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands. In the one-electron reduced heteropolyanion, two O atoms of the central PO(4) group ( symmetry) are equally disordered about an inversion centre. N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing. Compared with the isotypic structures, the main difference is related with the M-N bond lengths, whereas all other bond lengths, angles and the hydrogen-bonding motifs are very similar.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(18)H(18)N(4))]·0.5CH(3)OH, consists of two crystallographically distinct complexes and a methanol solvent mol-ecule. The Ni(II) complexes are pseudo-octa-hedral six-coordinate, with the tris-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine (TPA) ligand providing four N atoms and two N-bound thio-cyanates providing the final two N atoms. The distances and angles are typical for Ni(II)-TPA complexes. The compound has unit-cell parameters that are surprisingly similar to the previously reported hydrate.
