Triaqua-chlorido(18-crown-6)barium chloride.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [BaCl(C(12)H(24)O(6))(H(2)O)(3)]Cl, the Ba(II) atom, the coordinating and free Cl(-) anions, one coordinating water mol-ecule and two O atoms of an 18-crown-6 mol-ecule lie on a mirror plane. The environment of the ten-coordinate Ba(2+) ion is defined by one Cl atom, three water mol-ecules and six O atoms from the macrocyclic ether. The macrocycle adopts a conformation with an approximate D(3d) symmetry. In the crystal, O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the complex cations and Cl(-) anions into a two-dimensional network parallel to (010). An intra-molecular O-H?Cl hydrogen bond is also present.

The K(I) ion is coordinated by six O atoms of the crown ether and two bridging Cl atoms. The K(I) ion is displaced by 0.756?(2)?Å from the mean plane of the six O atoms of the crown ether. The mol-ecules are connected by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming an infinite two-dimensional network parallel to the (10) plane. Intra- and inter-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds are also observed.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, (C4H12N)[FeCl4]·C12H24O6, the butan-1-aminium cation and the tetra-chloridoferrate(III) anion have m symmetry: in the cation, the non-H atoms are located on the mirror plane and in the anion, the Fe(III) atom and two Cl atoms are located on the mirror plane. The 18-crown-6 mol-ecule also has m symmetry, with two O atoms located on the mirror plane. The butan-1-amine cation and the 18-crown-6 mol-ecule are connected by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, (NH3OH)2[PtCl6]·2C12H24O6, the Pt(IV) atom is coordinated by six chloride anions in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Pt-Cl bond lengths are comparable to those reported for other hexa-chlorido-platinate(IV) species. The hy-droxy-ammonium groups act as linkers between the [PtCl6](2-) anion and the crown ether mol-ecules. The anion is linked to two hy-droxy-ammonium cations via O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and each hy-droxy-ammonium moiety is linked to a crown ether mol-ecule by hydrogen bonds between ammonium H atoms and 18-crown-6 O atoms. The crown ether mol-ecules have the classic crown shape in which all O atoms are located in the inner part of the crown ether ring and all -CH2- groups are turned to the outside.

Project description:The reaction of the proton-transfer compound (pdaH(2))(py-3,5-dc)·H(2)O (pda = propane-1,3-diamine and py-3,5-dcH(2) = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylic acid) with Ba(NO(3))(2) leads to the formation of the title polymeric compound, [Ba(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(3)](n). The Ba(II) atom is nine-coordinated by six carboxyl-ate O atoms from the (py-3,5-dc)(2-) ligands, and three O atoms from the coordinated water mol-ecules. The coordination polyhedron around the Ba(II) atom is best described as tricapped trigonal-prismatic. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular inter-actions, such as X-H?O hydrogen bonds (X = O and C) and ?-? stacking [centroid-centroid distances between pyridine rings of 3.6191?(13) and 3.6192?(13)?Å] play an important role in stabilizing the supramolecular structure.
