Bis(2,2'-bipyridyl-?(2)N,N')bis-(dicyanamido-?N)manganese(II).

ABSTRACT: In title complex, [Mn(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Mn(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry by six N atoms. Four of the N atoms are from two chelating bipyridine ligands and two are from a pair of cis-coordinated dicyanamide ligands. The dihedral angle formed by the mean planes of the bipyridine rings is 85.93?(14)°. The central N atom of one of the dicyanamide ligands was refined as disordered over two sites with equal occupancies.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)N(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2)O(2))]·2H(2)O, a novel tricyano-methanide complex, the Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two 2,2'-bipyridyl dioxide (dpdo) mol-ecules and two trans tricyano-methanide (tcm) anions. The equatorial plane is formed by the four O atoms of the two chelating dpdo ligands, with one N atom of each of the two tcm ligands occupying an apical position. There is a disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit (occupancy ratio 0.63:0.37). These water mol-ecules result in the formation of O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds, building a layer parallel to (100). The layers are linked by C-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O, contains doubly charged centrosymmetric dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, perchlorate anions, and DMF and water solvate mol-ecules. In the complex cation, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the Cu atoms. Each Cu atom has a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of the two chelating bipy ligands and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into recta-ngles by O-H?O bonds in which the perchlorate O atoms act as acceptors and the water mol-ecules as donors. Methyl groups of the DMF solvent molecule are disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.453?(7):0.547?(7), and the water molecule is half-occupied.

Project description:The title compound, (C(6)H(8)N(4))[Mn(H(2)O)(6)](SO(4))(2), was obtained by cocrystallization of 2,2'-biimidazolium sulfate and bis-(tetra-butyl-ammonium) tetra-chlorido-manganate(II). The asymmetric unit contains one isolated (SO(4))(2-) anion, one half of an octa-hedral [Mn(H(2)O)(6)](2+) dication and one half of a 2,2'-biimidazolium dication, each of which lies on an inversion centre. The asymmetric unit consists of one Mn(II) ion and two bipy ligands each located on a twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion and one diethyl ether mol-ecule in general positions. In the crystal structure, the metal centers with terminally bonded thicyanate anions are bridged by the bipy ligands into layers parallel to (001). The diethyl ether solvent mol-ecules occupy the voids of the structure.

In the two complexes, both Mn(II) ions are six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment, but one Mn ion has a cis-N(5)O coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two chelating 2,2'-bipyrimidine (bpym) ligands, one N atom of a coordinating acetonitrile mol-ecule and one O atom of a water ligand, whereas the other Mn ion has a cis-N(4)O(2) coordination geometry defined by four N atoms of the two bpym ligands and two O atoms of water ligands. In the crystal structure, the complex mol-ecules, anions and solvent water mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds. Three of the four perchlorate anions are disordered over two sets of sites in different ratios.

The trifluoro-methyl fragment is rotationally disordered between two orientations in a 0.640?(7):0.360?(7) ratio. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds contribute to the crystal packing stability.
