ABSTRACT: Reaction of nickel(II) chloride with sodium dicyanamide and pyridazine leads to single crystals of the title compound, [Ni{N(CN)(2)}(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)], in which the Ni(II) cation is octa-hedrally coordinated by two dicyanamide anions and four pyridazine ligands into a discrete complex that is located on a center of inversion.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) thio-cyanate with an excess of pyridazine leads to single crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) cations are coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions (trans) and four pyridazine ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The discrete complexes are arranged into layers parallel to the ab plane which are separated by additional non-coordinated pyridazine ligands.

Project description:The reaction of nickel(II) nitrate with potassium seleno-cyanate and pyridazine leads to crystals of the title compound, [Ni(NCSe)(2)(C(4)H(4)N(2))(4)]·2C(4)H(4)N(2). The Ni(II) atom is coordinated by two terminal N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions and four pyridazine ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure contains two crystallographically independent pyridazine molecules in cavities of the structure, which are not coordinated to the metal centres. The structure is pseudo-C-centered due to the positioning of the discrete coordination complexes; the non-coordinating pyridazine molecules, however, break the C-centering. In the subcell, these ligands are disordered around centres of inversion, which do not coincide with the mid-point of the mol-ecules.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C(2)N(3))(2)(C(5)H(5)N)(4)], the Ni(II) cations are coordinated by four pyridine ligands and two dicyanamide anions into discrete complexes. The shortest Ni?Ni separation is 8.1068?(10)?Å. The structure is pseudo-centrosymmetric and can also be refined in the space group C2/c in which both anionic ligands are strongly disordered and the refinement leads to significantly poorer reliability factors.

Project description:The title complex, [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)][Ni(CN)(4)]·C(4)H(8)O·H(2)O, consists of a cationic [Ni(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](2+) unit, an anionic [Ni(CN)(4)](2-) unit, one uncoordinated water and one tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule. In the cationic unit, the Ni(2+) atom is coordinated by four N atoms and two O atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment. In the anionic unit, the Ni(2+) atom is in a square-planar coordination by four C atoms from four monodentate terminal cyanide ligands. O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link neighboring cationic and anionic units, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. The inter-stitial tetra-hydro-furan mol-ecule is independently disordered over two sites in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The title compound, {[Ni(C(2)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2C(5)H(5)NO}(n), is a centrosymmetric two-dimensional coordination polymer with a layer (4,4) network structure. The asymmetric unit is compossed of an Ni(II) atom, which sits on an inversion center, a ?-1,5-bridging dicyanamide anion, a water mol-ecule, and a free 4-hydroxy-pyridine mol-ecule present in the zwitterionic pyridinium-4-olate form. The Ni(II) atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry by four bridging dicyanamide ligands and two trans water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the two-dimensional networks are linked via N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

The complete mol-ecules are generated by inversion symmetry, with the center of the pyrazine rings being located at crystallographic centres of inversion. The ligand coordinates two NiII ions in a bis-penta-dentate manner and the sixfold coordination sphere of each nickel(II) atom (NiS2O3N) is completed by a water mol-ecule. The complex crystallized as a hepta-hydrate. The binuclear complexes are linked by Owater-H⋯Ocarbon-yl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the (101) plane. This layered structure is additionally stabilized by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Further O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving binuclear complexes and solvent water mol-ecules, together with weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, link the layers to form a supra-molecular framework.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(6)H(8)N(2))(4)], consists of isolated mol-ecules of [Ni(NCS)(2)(Aim)(4)] (Aim = 1-allyl-imidazole), which contain a distorted octa-hedral NiN(6) chromophore. The NCS(-) anions are trans and four N atoms from the 1-allyl-imidazole ligands define the equatorial plane. The mean Mn-N(Aim) and Mn-N(NCS) distances are 2.105 (2) and 2.098 (2) Å, respectively. Weak C-H⋯N inter-actions contribute to the crystal packing stability.
