ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Er(NO(3))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], contains one-half mol-ecule situated on a twofold rotation axis. The Er(III) ion is in a tenfold coordination by six O atoms from three NO(3) (-) anions and four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands in a distorted bicapped dodeca-hedral geometry. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds hold the mol-ecules together.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title mixed-ligand coordination polymer, [Nd(2)(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Nd(III) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment formed by one water mol-ecule, one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, and five monodentate carboxyl-ate groups. The local coordination polyhedron around the Nd(III) ion is a bicapped trigonal prism. Two Nd(III) centers are bridged by four carboxyl-ate groups to form an Nd(2) dimeric unit; these are further connected by 2,2'-bipyridine-4,4'-dicarboxyl-ate linkers, resulting in a layered coordination network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the five-coordinated Cu(II) atom has a distorted square-pyramidal CuN(4)O environment; the O atom is in the axial position whereas the N atoms from two bipyridine (bipy) ligands are in the equatorial plane. In the crystal, mol-ecules are assembled by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and π-π inter-actions between bipy groups [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7686 (16) and 3.7002 (16) Å] into a three-dimensional network. The nitrite anion is equally disordered over two sets of sites.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(10)H(9)N(2))[Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))], consists of 2-(2-pyrid-yl)pyridinium cations and anions [Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](-). The Bi(3+) ion lies on the twofold axis. It is coordinated by two nitro-gen atoms from one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and eight oxygen atoms from four NO(3) (-) anions. The disordered cation is positioned at the inversion centre. The [Bi(NO(3))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))](-) anions and 2-(2-pyrid-yl)pyridinium cations are connected via N-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains. Moreover, these chains are further linked into a two-dimensional layered structure through ?-? stacking inter-actions between bipyridine ligands along the c axis [centroid-centroid distance = 2.868?(4)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)][Fe(C(2)O(4))(3)]·H(2)O, con-sists of two discrete tris-(chelate) metal ions (Co(III)N(6) and Fe(III)O(6) chromophores) and a water mol-ecule. The structure is highly symmetrical; the Co(III) and Fe(III) ions occupy positions with site symmetry 3.2. The coordination polyhedra of the metal atoms have a nearly octa-hedral geometry with noticeable trigonal distortions. The Co-N and Fe-O bond lengths are equal by symmetry, viz. 1.981?(2) and 1.998?(4)?Å, respectively. The cations and anions are arranged alternately along their threefold rotation axes parallel to [001], forming chains that are packed in a hexa-gonal manner. The water mol-ecules occupy voids between the chains. The crystal under investigation was an inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)]Cl(3)·4H(2)O, contains discrete [Co(bpy)(3)](3+) cations (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine), Cl(-) anions and water mol-ecules. The [Co(bpy)(3)](3+) complex cation exhibits C(2) symmetry with the twofold axis through the central Co atom and bis-ecting one bpy ligand and one of the Cl(-) anions. The four solvent water mol-ecules and the remaining two Cl(-) anions lie on a mirror plane. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [ErCl(3)(C(10)H(17)Cl(3)N(3)O(2)P)(3)], contains two independent mol-ecules. In each mol-ecule, the Er(III) ion is six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral ErO(3)Cl(3) geometry with a fac-arrangement of the donor atoms. Intra-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds influence the mol-ecular conformations. Some of the pyrrolidine fragments in the N-[bis(pyrrolidin-1-yl)phosphoryl]-2,2,2-trichloroacetamide ligands are disordered over two conformations of equal occupancy. The unusually porous crystal packing exhibits voids of 162, 158 and 13?Å(3 )and short inter-molecular Cl?O contacts of 2.876?(3) and 3.022?(4)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ho(NO(3))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the ten-coordinate Ho(III) ion is chelated by four N atoms from two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and six O atoms from three bidentate nitrate groups. The environment around the Ho atom can be described as a distorted bicapped square anti-prism. Two phenanthroline ligands form a dihedral angle of 43.72 (13)°. Short inter-molecular distances between the centroids of the six-membered rings [3.6887 (14)-3.8374 (16) Å] indicate the existence of π-π inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into stacks extended in the [10] direction. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
