Catena-Poly[[(p-toluene-sulfonato-?O)silver(I)]-?-1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane-?(2)N:N'].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ag(C(7)H(7)O(3)S)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), the Ag(I) ion is coordinated in a T-shape by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane ligands and one O atom from a p-toluene-sulfonate ligand, forming a one-dimensional zigzag chain along [001]. In the crystal, weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak Ag?Ag inter-actions [3.2628?(5)?Å] are observed.

Project description:The title Cu(II) coordination polymer, {[Cu(C(7)H(10)N(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(2)·H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the reaction of equimolar Cu(NO(3))(2)·4H(2)O and 1,3-bis-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane (btp) in a water-methanol solvent. The Cu(II) atom is located on a centre of inversion and has an elongated octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by four N atoms from four symmetry-related btp ligands and two coordinated water mol-ecules. Adjacent Cu(II) atoms are connected by btp ligands, generating a double-stranded chain. The nitrate anion is disordered over two positions in a 0.828?(7):0.172?(2) ratio.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(NCS)(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))(CH(3)OH)(2)], consists of one cobalt(II) cation located on a center of inversion, one half of a 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane ligand located on a twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion and one methanol mol-ecule in general positions. The cobalt(II) cation is coordinated by two terminal N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and two N-bonded 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane ligands, as well as two O atoms of methanol mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination mode. Adjacent cations are connected into chains parallel to [10[Formula: see text]] by the bridging 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane ligands. These chains are connected through inter-molecular O-H?S hydrogen bonds between the methanol hy-droxy group and the terminal S atom of the thio-cyanate anion.

Project description:Through a diffusion reaction, cuprous bromide, triphenyl-phosphane and 1,3-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)propane (bpp) were self-assembled to form the one-dimensional title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)](n). Each Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two Br atoms, one P atom from a triphenyl-phosphane ligand and one N atom from a bpp mol-ecule in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. Two ?(2)-Br bridges connect two [Cu(PPh(3))](+) units to form neutral [CuBr(PPh(3))](2) dimers, which are linked by the flexible bridging bpp ligands to form a one-dimensional chain structure parallel to the c axis. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings of the bpp ligand is 34.59?(14)°.

In the 3,3'-diethyl-1,1'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)di(1H-imidazol-3-ium) cation, the dihedral angle between the imidazole rings is 49.3?(1)°. In the [Ag(2)I(4)](2-) anion, each Ag(I) atom is bonded to three iodide anions, the two Ag(I) atoms and two of the iodides forming Ag(2)I(2) square-planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.01?Å) units·The remaining two iodides, which are placed on opposite sides of the square, together with their centrosymmetric counterparts, link the square-planar Ag(2)I(2) units into {[Ag(2)I(4)](2-)}(n) polymeric chains via Ag-I bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag(NO(2))(C(14)H(14)N(4))](n), contains half of the repeating formula unit (Z' = 1/2). The Ag(I) ion lies on a twofold rotation axis. The primary structure consists of a one-dimensional coordination polymer formed by the Ag(I) ions and the bipyridyl azine ligand in which there is an inversion center at the mid-point of the N-N bond. The nitrite anion inter-acts with the Ag(I) ion through a chelating ?(2) inter-action involving both O atoms. In the crystal, the coordination chains are parallel and inter-act through Ag?? [3.220?(2)?Å] and ?-? [3.489?(3)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C(7)H(8)N(4)S(4))(4)](ClO(4))(2)}(n), the Cu(II) atom, occupying a crystallographic inversion centre, is six-coordinated by six N atoms of three symmetry-related 2,2'-(propane-1,3-diyldithio)bis-(1,3,4-thia-diazole) (L) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The ligand L adopts two kinds of coordination modes in the crystal structure; one is a monodentate coordination mode and serves to complete the octa-hedral coordination of the Cu atom and the other is an N:N'-bidentate bridging mode in a trans configuration, bridging Cu atoms via translation symmetry along the b axis into a chain structure. The perchlorate ions serve as acceptors for inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a three-dimensional network.
