Bis(2-methyl-piperidinium) penta-chlorido-anti-monate(III).

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[SbCl(5)], contains one cation and half of the anion on a special position (specifically, the Sb(III) ion and three chloride anions are situated on a mirror plane). In the [SbCl(5)](2-) unit, the Sb(III) ion is coordinated by five chloride anions [Sb-Cl = 2.3721?(11)-2.6656?(12)?Å] in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. However, one chloride anion from a neighbouring [SbCl(5)](2-) unit provides a short Sb?Cl contact of 3.3600?(12)?Å and completes the Sb coordination environment up to an elongated octa-hedron. In the crystal, N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link cations and anions into columns propagating along [100].

Project description:The title compound, (C(7)H(10)N)(3)[SbCl(5)]Cl·H(2)O, consists of 4-methyl-anilinium cations, Cl(-) and [SbCl(5)](2-) anions and water mol-ecules. The five Cl atoms bound to Sb [Sb-Cl = 2.4043?(9)-2.6262?(11)?Å] form a square-pyramidal coordination environment. In addition, two [SbCl(5)](2-) anions related by an inversion center are joined by Sb?Cl inter-actions [Sb?Cl = 3.7273?(14)?Å] into an [Sb(2)Cl(10)](4-) dimer with two bridging Cl atoms. The anions, water mol-ecules and ammonium groups of the cations are linked by N-H?Cl, N-H?O and O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the ac plane. The benzene rings of the 4-methyl-anilinium cations are packed between these layers.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.

Project description:The title salt, (C6H14N2)2[Sb2Cl10]·2H2O, was obtained by slow evaporation of an acidic solution of 1,4-di-aza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane and SbCl3. The crystal structure consists of (C6H14N2)(2+) cations, [Sb2Cl10](4-) double octa-hedra and lattice water mol-ecules. All mol-ecular components are situated on special positions. The cation and the lattice water mol-ecule exhibit mirror symmetry, whereas the anion has site symmetry 2/m. The cations, anions and water mol-ecules are alternately arranged into columns along [010]. Individual columns are joined into layers extending along (001). Intra-layer N-H⋯O and inter-layer N-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Bis(1-methyl-piperidinium) tetra-chlorido-cuprate(II).

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[CuCl(4)], consists of two inequivalent 1-methyl-piperidinium cations and a flattened tetra-hedral [CuCl(4)](2-) anion. Each organic cation exhibits a chair conformation with the methyl group in the equatorial position. They are segregated into alternating layers parallel to (100) and stacked along [100]. The first cation is arranged in parallel stacks in a herringbone pattern with rows of [CuCl(4)](2-) anions fitting between the stacks and with a Cl(-) ion directed into the inter-ior of the layer. The second organic cation forms distorted hcp layers that separate the other organic cation/[CuCl(4)](2-) slabs. N-H?Cl hydrogen bonding between the cations and the anions consolidates the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C10H15)2]2[CoCl4]·2CH2Cl2, was isolated as a dichloromethane solvate and was formed in the reaction between lithium penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienide and anyhydrous cobalt(II) chloride in tetra-hydro-furan. There are two deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cations, one tetrachloridocobaltate(II) anion and two di-chloro-methane solvent mol-ecules in the formula unit. There is a slight disorder of the di-chloro-methane solvent which was treated with a two-site model [occupancy rates = 0.765?(4) and 0.235?(4)]. The di-chloro-methane mol-ecules display significant C-H?Cl inter-actions with the tetrachloridocobaltate(II) dianion. The cobalt atom of the deca-methyl-cobaltocenium cation sits on a twofold rotation axis, with only one penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-diene ligand being unique and the second generated by symmetry. The cobalt atom of the [CoCl4](-2) ion sits on a special site with -4 symmetry, with one unique chloride ligand and the others generated by the fourfold inversion axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(4)H(6)N(3)O)(2)[InCl(5)(H(2)O)], comprises two independent cytosinium cations and an aquapentachloridoindate anion. The In(III) ion is in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. In the crystal, alternating layers of cations and anions are arranged along [010] and are linked via inter-molecular N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets parallel to (001). Additional stabilization within these sheeets is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions.
