N'-Cyclo-pentyl-idene-pyridine-4-carbo-hydrazide.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(11)H(13)N(3)O, is a derivative of the anti-tuberculosis drug isoniazid [systematic name: pyridine-4-carbohydrazide]. The crystal structure consists of repeating hydrogen-bonded chains parallel to the b axis. Adjacent mol-ecules in the chains are linked by bifurcated N-H?(O,N) hydrogen bonds, which form an R(1) (2)(5) ring motif.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(12)N(4)O(4), was synthesized by the reaction of (2,4-dinitro-phen-yl)hydrazine with cyclo-penta-none. The cyclo-pentyl fragment is disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.63 (1) and 0.37 (1). An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond helps to establish the conformation. Pairs of mol-ecules are held together by π-π inter-actions between adjacent benzene rings [centroid-to-centroid distance 3.589 (2) Å].

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(13)H(16)N(2)O(2), the cyclo-hexyl-idene ring adopts a chair conformation. The intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond influences the mol-ecular conformation: the benzene ring and the mean plane of the central C(O)NHN fragment form a dihedral angle of 4.9 (1) Å. The five-membered ring adopts a twisted conformation. The dihedral angle between the phenyl ring and the mean plane of the thio-urea unit is 78.22 (8)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked via pairs of N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds forming inversion dimers.
