Tris(2-acetyl-cyclo-pentan-1-onato-?(2)O,O')aluminium.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Al(C(7)H(9)O(2))(3)], the Al(III) cation is coordinated by six O atoms from three 2-acetyl-cyclo-penta-nonate ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment, with Al-O bond lengths in the range 1.882?(2)-1.896?(2)?Å. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked together via C-H?O inter-actions. One of the C atoms in one ring has a large thermal motion compared to the other atoms, indicating some possible disorder. However, the treatment of this C atom as disordered over two positions did not give a significant improvement.

Project description:In the title compound, [Rh(C(22)H(32)N(3)O(5))(CO)(2)], the Rh(I) atom is coordinated by two carbonyl ligands and two tropolonate O atoms in a distorted square-planar geometry. It is an example of a new type of tropolone derivative that has not been characterized via solid-state methods. Weak intra-molecular C-H⋯N and inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and π-π stacking inter-actions between the tropolone rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.590 (8) Å] are observed in the crystal structure.

Aluminium cyclo-hexa-phosphate.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, Al(2)P(6)O(18), were obtained by solid-state reaction. The monoclinic structure is isotypic with its Cr(III), Ga(III) and Ru(III) analogues and is built up of six-membered phosphate ring anions, P(6)O(18) (6-), isolated from each other and further linked by isolated AlO(6) octa-hedra by sharing corners. Each AlO(6) octa-hedron is linked to four P(6)O(18) (6-) rings. More accurately, two rings are linked through bidentate diphosphate groups attached in the cis-positions to the AlO(6) octa-hedron. The other two rings are linked to the two remaining corners, also in cis-positions of the AlO(6) octa-hedron.

Hexaaqua-aluminium(III) tris-(methane-sulfonate).

Project description:The title compound, [Al(H(2)O)(6)](CH(3)SO(3))(3) (common name: aluminium methane-sulfonate hexa-hydrate), was crystallized from an aqueous solution prepared by the precipitation reaction of aluminium sulfate and barium methane-sulfonate. Its crystal structure is the first of the boron group methane-sulfonates to be determined. The characteristic building block is a centrosymmetric unit containing two hexa-aqua-aluminium cations that are connected to each other by two O atoms of the -SO(3) groups in an O-H?O?H-O sequence. Further O-H?O hydrogen bonding links these blocks in orthogonal directions - along [010] forming a double chain array, along [10-1] forming a layered arrangement of parallel chains and along [101] forming a three-dimensional network. As indicated by the O?O distances of 2.600?(3)-2.715?(3)?Å, the hydrogen bonds are from medium-strong to strong. A further structural feature is the arrangement of two and four methyl groups, respectively, establishing 'hydro-phobic islands' of different size, all positioned in a layer-like region perpendicular to [101]. The only other building block within this region is one of the -SO(3) groups giving a local connection between the hydro-philic structural regions on both sides of the 'hydro-phobic' one. Thermal analysis indicates that a stepwise dehydration process starts at about 413?K and proceeds via the respective penta- and dihydrate until the compound completely decomposes at about 688?K.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb(C(10)H(11)O(2))(2)](n) or [Pb(hino)(2)](n), the lead(II) ion is chelated by two hinokitiolate ligands in a distorted square-pyramidal configuration, with Pb-O bond lengths in the range 2.327 (6)-2.479 (9) Å. The 6s(2) lone electron pair of the lead(II) ion becomes stereochemically active and is directed towards the apex of this pyramid. The crystal structure of the title compound consists of chains formed by the bis-(hinokitiolato)lead(II) mol-ecules situated along the twofold screw axis. The coordination sphere around the lead(II) ion is completed by three additional O atoms, at 2.625 (7), 3.016 (8) and 3.064 (8) Å, from the two neighbouring Pb(hino)(2) units. Both isopropyl groups are rotationally disordered.

Project description:The title compound, [Mo(C5H5)(C2H3O)(C12H9O3P)(CO)2], was prepared by reaction of [Mo(C5H5)(CO)3(CH3)] with tris-(furan-2-yl)phosphane. The Mo(II) atom exhibits a four-legged piano-stool coordination geometry with the acetyl and phosphine ligands trans to each other. The O atom of the acetyl ligand points down, away from the Cp ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetrical dimers via π-π inter-actions between furyl rings [the centroid-centroid distance is 3.396 (4) Å]. The dimers are linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to (100).

Project description:The title compound, C(56)H(83)N(9)O(9)S·3CH(3)OH, is a methanol tris-olvate of the cyclo-linopeptide cyclo(Met(1)-Leu(2)-Ile(3)-Pro(4)-Pro(5)-Phe(6)-Phe(7)-Val(8)-Ile(9)) (henceforth referred to as CLP-B), which was isolated from flaxseed oil. All the amino acid residues are in an l-configuration based on the CORN rule. The cyclic nona-peptide exhibits eight trans peptide bonds and one cis peptide bond observed between the two proline residues. The conformation is stabilized by an α-turn and two consecutive β-turns each containing a N-H⋯O hydrogen bond between the carbonyl group O atom of the first residue and the amide group H atom of the fourth (α-turn) or the third residue (β-turns), repectively. In the crystal, the components of the structure are linked by N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into chains parallel to the a axis.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(3)(C(8)H(6)N(3))(3)], the asymmetric unit contains three silver cations and three depronated 5-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazol-1-ide ligands. Each silver cation is chelated by one 5-(2-pyrid-yl)pyrazol-1-ide ligand, which also acts as a bridging ligand towards the next silver ion via the second pyrazole N atom. In summary, three silver cations and three deprotonated 3-(2-pyrid-yl)-1H-pyrazole ligands produce a macrocyclic trimeric coordination oligomer that exhibits an almost planar conformation (mean deviation 0.1483?Å). In addition, short non-bonding Ag?Ag inter-actions [3.127?(2)?Å] are observed.
