Propane-1,3-diammonium dichromate(VI).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C(3)H(12)N(2))[Cr(2)O(7)], consists of a discrete dichromate anion with an eclipsed conformation and a propane-1,3-diammonium cation. Both kinds of ions have a mirror plane passing through the bridging O atom and the central methyl-ene C atom of the Cr(2)O(7) (2-) and C(3)H(12)N(2) (2+) moieties, respectively. Anions and cations are alternately stacked to form columns parallel to the b axis. Ions are linked by intra- and inter-column hydrogen bonds of types N-H?O and C-H?O, involving O atoms of the dichromate anions as acceptors, and ammonium or methyl-ene groups as donors.

Project description:The title polymeric compound {(C(3)H(12)N(2))[Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)]·3H(2)O}(n) or {(pnH(2))[Cu(py-2,3-dc)(2)]·3H(2)O}(n) (pn is propane-1,3-diamine and py-2,3-dcH(2) is pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by reaction of copper(II) chloride dihydrate with a proton-transfer compound, propane-1,3-diammonium pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate or (pnH(2))(py-2,3-dc), in aqueous solution. The anion is a six-coordinate complex (site symmetry ), with a distorted octa-hedral geometry around Cu(II), consisting of two bidentate pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate groups and two O atoms of bridging ligands from (py-2,3-dc)(2-) fragments, which are located in trans positions. The (pnH(2))(2+) cation is disordered over two sites by the center of inversion. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, π-π [centroid-centroid distances of 3.539 (3) Å] and C-O⋯π stacking inter-actions [O⋯Cg = 3.240 (5) Å; Cg is the center of the pyridine ring], connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, bis-[4,4'-(propane-1,3-di-yl)-dipiperidin-ium] ?-octa-molybdate(VI), (C(13)H(28)N(2))(2)[Mo(8)O(26)], was produced by hydro-thermal reaction of an acidified aqueous solution of Na(2)MoO(4)·2H(2)O and 4,4'-trimethyl-ene-dipiperidine (L). The structure of the title compound consists of ?-octa-molybdate(VI) anion clusters and protonated [H(2)L](2+) cations. The octa-molybdate anion is located around an inversion center. N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions ensure the cohesion of the structure and result in a three-dimensional network.

Bis(4-amino-pyridinium) dichromate(VI).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, (C5H7N2)2[Cr2O7], contains four independent cations and two independent dichromate anions. The crystal structure consists of discrete dichromate anions with an eclipsed conformation stacked in layers parallel to (010) at y = 1/4 and y = 3/4. These layers are linked via 4-amino-pyridinium cations by N-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network. In addition, ?-? inter-actions are present in this structure; the shortest distance separating mean planes through 4-amino-pyridinium cations is 3.679?(6)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(3)H(12)N(2))[Zn(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(2)]·3.5H(2)O, contains two formula units. The compound consists of an anionic complex, a doubly protonated propane-1,3-diamine as a counter-ion and 3.5 uncoord-inated water mol-ecules. The coordination polyhedron around the Zn(II )atom is distorted octa-hedral, defined by four O atoms and two N atoms from two Hchel (H(3)chel = 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) ligands. In the crystal structure, O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds along with ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.473?(2)?Å] are observed to reinforce the crystal cohesion.

Project description:The title compound, (C(5)H(6)N(3)O(2))(2)[Cr(2)O(7)], consists of 2-amino-3-nitro-pyridinium cations and discrete dichromate anions linked together by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming thick layers parallel to (101). Layer cohesion is ensured by N-H?O hydrogen bonding in addition to electrostatic and van der Waals inter-actions, forming a three-dimensional framework. The dichromate anion is located on a twofold axis that passes through its bridging O atom.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, (C(12)H(14)N(2))[Cr(2)O(7)], the two pyridinium moieties are in an anti orientation with respect to one another. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 6.3?(2)°. The N-C-C-N torsion angle is 177.5?(2)°. In the dianion, the Cr(VI) ions are in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment and the bond angles at the independent Cr(VI) ions are in the ranges 105.93?(10)-110.60?(11) and 107.35?(11)-111.07?(12)°. The Cr-O-Cr angle is 127.96?(12)°. The crystal used was an inversion twin with refined components of 0.510?(19) and 0.490?(19).

Project description:The reaction of mercury(II) chloride dihydrate, propane-1,3-diamine and 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid in a 1:1:1 molar ratio in aqueous solution, resulted in the formation of the title compound, (C(3)H(12)N(2))[Hg(C(7)H(3)NO(5))Cl(H(2)O)](2)·4H(2)O or (pnH(2))[Hg(hypydc)Cl(H(2)O)](2)·4H(2)O (where pn is propane-1,3-diamine and hypydcH(2) is 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid). The metal atom is coordinated by one chloride group, one water mol-ecule cis to the chloride ligand and one (hypydc)(2-) ligand. The coordinated water mol-ecule is almost perpendicular to the plane of the aromatic ring of (hypydc)(2-). The geometry of the resulting HgClNO(3) coordination can be described as distorted square-pyramidal. This structure also contains propane-1,3-diammonium (site symmetry 2) as a counter-ion and four uncoordinated water mol-ecules. There is a wide range of non-covalent inter-actions consisting of hydrogen bonding [of the types O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O, with D⋯A ranging from 2.548 (5) to 3.393 (6) Å] and ion pairing.

Project description:In the crystal of the title hydrated molecular salt, 2C(3)H(12)N(2) (2+)·C(10)H(2)O(8) (4-)·2H(2)O, the packing is stabilized by extensive N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving all three species, forming a supra-molecular three-dimensional structure. The tetraanion is generated by inversion.
