ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [PdCl2(C13H14N2S)], the Pd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms of the chelating bidentate ligand and two chloride anions, giving rise to a distorted square-planar geometry. The methyl-substituted thio-phene arm and the pyridine ring are connected to the metal cation through N atoms to form a six-membered chelate ring with a boat conformation, making the complex stable.

Project description:In the title compound, [CdCl2(C13H12N4S)]·CH3OH, the coord-ination geometry of the Cd(II) ion is slightly distorted square-pyramidal, as indicated by the ? index of 0.36?(8). The S atom, two N atoms from the pyridyl-azomethine moiety and one of the Cl atoms comprise the basal plane, while the other Cl atom occupies the apical position. The hydrazinecarbo-thio-amide moiety adopts an E conformation with respect to the azomethine bond. The solvate mol-ecule in the crystal lattice plays a major role in inter-connecting adjacent mol-ecules by means of O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. A supra-molecular three-dimensional architecture is sustained in terms of further N-H?Cl and C-H?Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

The coordination geometry is defined by three N-atom donors from the tridentate 2-(pyridin-2-yl)-N-(pyridin-2-yl-methyl-idene)ethanamine ligand and two terminal Cl atoms. Although the H atoms of the lattice water molecule were not located, O?O distances of 3.103?(7)?Å and O?Cl distances of 3.240?(3) and 3.482?(4)?Å suggest that hydrogen bonding is responsible for the stabilization of the crystal packing.

Project description:There are two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title mol-ecule, C8H9N3S2, both of which exhibit an E conformation with the pyridine ring and di-thio-carbazate fragment located on opposite sides of the C=N bond. The pyridine ring and di-thio-carbazate group are approximately coplanar, with dihedral angles of 4.74?(1) and 8.77?(1)° between their planes in the two mol-ecules. Project description:The asymetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C17H13N2)], contains two independent mol-ecules whose conformations differ, especially in the 4-{(pyridin-4-yl)methyl-idene]amino}-phenyl unit where one is flipped by almost 180°. The cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocene unit also exhibit different staggered conformations: in one mol-ecule the conformation is staggered by 9.43?(2)° and in the other by 24.46?(1)° from an ideal eclipsed geometry. The plane of the benzene ring is tilted away from the ferrocene group in both mol-ecules, with dihedral angles of 6.97?(1) and 10.30?(2)°. The benzene ring is also slightly twisted from the plane of the pyridine ring, with dihedral angles of 5.98?(2) and 6.51?(2)° in the two mol-ecules.
