ABSTRACT: In both independent mol-ecules of the title compound, [Nd(C9H11NO4P)3(C12H8N2)], the Nd(III) atom is coordinated by six O atoms belonging to three phosphoryl ligands and two N atoms of 1,10-phenanthroline in a dodeca-hedral geometry. In the phosphoryl ligands, the benzene rings are twisted with respect to the planes of the sp(2)-hybridized C atoms of the chelate rings by 12.1?(1)-24.7?(1)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ho(NO(3))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the ten-coordinate Ho(III) ion is chelated by four N atoms from two phenanthroline (phen) ligands and six O atoms from three bidentate nitrate groups. The environment around the Ho atom can be described as a distorted bicapped square anti-prism. Two phenanthroline ligands form a dihedral angle of 43.72 (13)°. Short inter-molecular distances between the centroids of the six-membered rings [3.6887 (14)-3.8374 (16) Å] indicate the existence of π-π inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into stacks extended in the [10] direction. The crystal packing is further stabilized by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C14H12N2)3](C4N3)2, consists of one [Fe(dimephen)3](2+) complex cation (dimephen = 5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) and two uncoordinating tcm anions (tcm = tricyano-methanide). In the complex cation, the Fe(II) atom is coordinated by six N atoms from three chelating dimephen ligands at an average Fe-N distance of 1.963?(4)?Å giving a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H?N hydrogen bonds and C N?? inter-actions between planar [maximum deviations of 0.024?(3) and 0.015?(3)?Å] tcm anions and pyridine rings of dimephen [N2?centroid = 3.531?(3) and 3.726?(3)?Å; C N?centroid = 96.4?(2) and 97.1?(2)°].

Project description:Single crystals of the title heterometallic compound, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)][Cr(NCS)(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](2)·3CH(3)CN·H(2)O or [Fe(Cphen)(3)][Cr(NCS)(4)(phen)](2)·3CH(3)CN·H(2)O, were pre-pared using the one-pot open-air reaction of iron powder, Reineckes salt and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) in acetonitrile. The asymetric unit consists of an [Fe(phen)(3)](2+) cation, two [Cr(phen)(NCS)(4)](-) anions, three acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules and a water mol-ecule. The Fe and Cr atoms both show a slightly distorted octa-hedral FeN(6) and CrN(6) coordination geometry with adjacent angles in the range 79.67?(12)-95.21?(12)°. No classical hydrogen bonding involving the water molecule is observed.

The salt is characterized as a mixed-valent Fe(II)-Fe(III) compound, in which an Fe(II) atom is coordinated by three phen ligands, forming a six-coordinated cationic entity and the anionic part is formed by two Fe(III) atoms in tetra-hedral coordination environments constructed by three chloride ions and one bridging oxide ligand. Intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds are observed.

Project description:The title complex, [Nd(C(6)H(6)NO(3)S)(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(3)]NO(3)·4H(2)O, comprises a mononuclear cation, an NO(3) (-) anion and two uncoordinated water mol-ecules; the Nd(III) cation, one coordinated water mol-ecule, and the NO(3) (-) anion each lie on a twofold axis of symmetry. The Nd(III) ion exhibits an NdN(4)O(5) coordination environment comprising two O atoms of two monodentate 4-amino-benzene-sulfonato ligands, four N atoms of the bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline ligands, and three water-O atoms. The coordination geometry is based on a tricapped triangular-prismatic arrangement. The components are consolidated into a three-dimensional network via O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Nd(C(7)H(5)O(4))(2)(NO(3))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Nd(III) atom is in a distorted bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, four O atoms from two 2,6-dihy-droxy-benzoate (DHB) ligands and two O atoms from a nitrate anion. π-π stacking inter-actions between the phen and DHB ligands of adjacent complexes [centroid-centroid distances = 3.520 (6) and 3.798 (6) Å] stabilize the crystal structure. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed in the DHB ligands.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)](3)[FeW(12)O(40)]·2H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The discrete Keggin-type [FeW(12)O(40)](6-) heteropolyoxoanion has threefold symmetry, with the Fe(II) atom located on the threefold rotation axis. The central FeO(4) tetra-hedron in the anion shares its O atoms with four W(3)O(13) trinuclear units, each of which is made up of three edge-shared WO(6) octa-hedral units. The Fe(II) atom in the complex cation, viz [Fe(phen)(3)](2+) (phen is 1,10-phen-anthroline), shows a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by six N atoms from three phen ligands. The polyoxoanions pack together with the cations, with the disordered water mol-ecules located in voids; the site occupancy factor for each water O atom is 0.33.

In the cation, the metal centre is coordinated by six N atoms from three 1,10-phenanthroline ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The [Cr(2)O(7)](2-) anion exhibits a staggered conformation.
