Di-?3-acetato-bis-{?-6,6'-dieth-oxy-2,2'-[propane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methanylyl-idene)]diphenolato}dicadmiumdisodium ethanol 0.67-solvate.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title compound, [Cd2Na2(C2H3O2)2(C21H24N2O4)2]·0.67C2H6O, the doubly deprotonated Schiff base ligand N,N',O,O'-chelates to the Cd(II) cation, which is also O,O'-chelated by the acetate ion. Two Cd-Schiff base units are connected to two Na(+) atoms to form the tetra-nuclear complex, in which the Cd(2+) and Na(+) cations show distorted octa-hedral coordinations. The asymmetric unit consists of half a tetra-nuclear mol-ecule (lying on an inversion center) and a full tetra-nuclear mol-ecule (lying on a general position) along with a lattice ethanol mol-ecule, which links to the coordinating acetate ion via an O-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the propyl and ethyl groups of the complex mol-ecule are disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio; the ethyl group of the lattice ethanol mol-ecule is also equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(23)H(28)N(2)O(4))]·H(2)O, the Cu(II) ion has a distorted planar geometry, coordinated by the N(2)O(2) unit of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand. The asymmetric unit comprises one complex mol-ecule and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. The water H atoms form bifurcated O-H?(O,O) inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with the O atoms of the phenolate and eth-oxy groups with R(1) (2)(5) and R(1) (2)(6) ring motifs, which may, in part, influence the mol-ecular configuration. The dihedral angle between the two O-Cu-N coordination planes is 31.02?(6)° and the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 34.98?(7)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked together by inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions, forming extended chains along the a axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular C-H?? and ?-? [centroid-centroid = 3.5068?(13)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(23)H(28)N(2)O(4))]·H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by the N(2)O(2) unit of the tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand in a slightly distorted planar geometry. The asymmetric unit of the title compound comprises one complex mol-ecule and a water mol-ecule of crystallization. The H atoms of the water mol-ecule make bifurcated inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with the O atoms of the phenolate and eth-oxy groups with R(1) (2)(5) and R(1) (2)(6) ring motifs, which may, in part, influence the mol-ecular configuration. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 31.43 (5)°. Project description:The title compound, C(24)H(32)N(2)O(4), is a polydentate Schiff base and reveals strong intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonding between the hy-droxy O atom and the imino N atom, with an O?N distance of 2.570?(3)?Å. In the crystal, a centre of inversion is located at the mid-point of the compound. The diimino-hexyl-ene chain is almost ideally in the anti conformation, with an average dihedral angle of 179.0°.

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(C(18)H(18)N(2)O(4))(C(2)H(3)O(2))(H(2)O)]·2CH(3)OH, the Co(III) atom is hexa-coordinated by water and acetate groups in the axial positions and by the tetra-dentate Schiff base occupying equatorial positions. These axial bonds are longer than the equatorial bonds to the tetra-dentate Schiff base. Two mol-ecules form a dimer through strong hydrogen bonds from the coordinated water of one mol-ecule to the meth-oxy O atoms of an adjoining mol-ecule. There is extensive intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonding between the coordinated water and acetate ligands and the methanol solvent mol-ecules. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions, which link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional array.

The ten-coordin-ate Dy(III) ion is ligated by six O atoms of three nitrate groups and four O atoms from the ligand [Dy-O = 2.368 (3)-2.601 (3) Å]. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules and solvent mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
