Catena-Poly[[copper(I)-?-2,6-bis-[4-(pyridin-2-yl)thia-zol-2-yl]pyridine] hexa-fluoridophosphate acetonitrile monosolvate] from single-crystal synchrotron data.

ABSTRACT: The title complex, {[Cu(C21H13N5S2)]PF6·CH3CN} n , was formed immediately on adding together a methanol solution containing copper(I) ions and a methanol solution of 2,6-bis-[4-(pyridin-2-yl)thia-zol-2-yl]pyridine. Crystallographic studies of the complex reveal a coordination polymer with the ligand acting as a bis-(bidentate) ligand with the pyridine N atom not coordinating a metal centre. The Cu(I) atom is four-coordinate with approximately tetra-hedral stereochemistry: the N4 donor set is provided by bipyridine-like moieties of the two heterocyclic ligands. Parallel chains of the coordination polymer run along the b-axis direction with the disordered (0.50:0.50 occupancy ratio) PF6 (-) anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules located between the chains.

Project description:In the title compound, [Li(CH(3)CN)(4)]PF(6)·CH(3)CN, the asymmetric unit consists of three independent tetra-hedral [Li(CH(3)CN)(4)](+) cations, three uncoordinated PF(6) (-) anions and three uncoordinated CH(3)CN solvent mol-ecules. The three anions are disordered over two sites through a rotation along one of the F-P-F axes. The relative occupancies of the two sites for the F atoms are 0.643?(16):0.357?(16), 0.677?(10):0.323?(10) and 0.723?(13):0.277?(13). The crystal used was a racemic twin, with approximately equal twin components.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(2)](PF(6))(2)·CH(3)CN, the Ru(II) atom is bonded to two α-diimine ligands, viz. 2,2'-bipyridine, in a cis configuration and to two 4-amino-pyridine (4Apy) ligands in the expected distorted octa-hedral configuration. The compound is isostructural with [Ru(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(2)](ClO(4))(2)·CH(3)CN [Duan et al. (1999 ▶). J. Coord. Chem.46, 301-312] and both structures are stabilized by classical hydrogen bonds between 4Apy ligands as donors and counter-ions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules as acceptors. Indeed, N-H⋯F inter-actions give rise to an inter-molecularly locked assembly of two centrosymmetric complex mol-ecules and two PF(6) (-) counter-ions, which can be considered as the building units of both crystal architectures. The building blocks are connected to one another through hydrogen bonds between 4Apy and the connecting pieces made up of two centrosymmetric motifs with PF(6) (-) ions and acetonitrile mol-ecules, giving rise to ribbons running parallel to [011]. 2(1)-Screw-axis-related complex mol-ecules and PF(6) (-) counter-ions alternate in helical chains formed along the a axis by means of these contacts.

Project description:The title compound, C(10)H(10)N(3) (+)·NCS(-)·CH(3)CN, is the acetonitrile solvate of the thio-cyanate salt of protonated dipyridin-2-yl-amine. Protonation occurs at one of the pyridine N atoms. The mol-ecular geometry around the central N atom is essentially planar (sum of angles = 359.89°). In the crystal, N-H?N hydrogen bonds, as well as C-H?S contacts link the different residues into chains along the c-axis direction. Inter-action between aromatic systems gives rise to ?-stacking, the shortest distance between two ?-systems being 3.6902?(6)?Å. Both the protonated and the non-protonated pyridyl groups are involved in the latter inter-action.

Project description:In the title compound [Ru(2)(C(15)H(11)N(3))(2)(C(24)H(16)N(6))](PF(6))(4)·4CH(3)CN, two of the counter-ions and one of the solvent mol-ecules are disordered with occupancies for the major components between 0.57?(2) and 0.64?(1). The structure of the dinuclear tetracation exhibits significant distortion from planarity in the bridging 2,3,5,6-tetra-kis-(pyridin-2-yl)pyrazine (tppz) ligand, which has a saddle-like geometry with an average dihedral angle of 42.96?(18)° between adjacent pyridine rings. The metal-ligand coordination environment is nearly equivalent for the two Ru(II) atoms, which have a distorted octa-hedral geometry due to the restricted bite angle [157.57?(13)-159.28?(12)°] of their two mer-arranged tridendate ligands [2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) and tppz] orthogonal to each other. At the peripheral tpy ligands, the average Ru-N bond distance is 2.072?(4)?Å for the outer N atoms trans to each other (N(outer)) and 1.984?(1)?Å for the central N atoms (N(central)). At the bridging tppz ligand, the average metal-ligand distances are significantly shorter [2.058?(4)?Å for Ru-N(outer) and 1.965?(1)?Å for Ru-N(central)] as a result of both the geometric constraints and the stronger ?-acceptor ability of the pyrazine-centered bridge. The dihedral angle between the two tpy planes is 27.11?(6)°. The intra-molecular linear distance between the two Ru atoms is 6.6102?(7)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C2O4)(C10H7N3S)] n , the Mn(II) cation is chelated by one 2-(1,3-thia-zol-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligand and two oxalate anions in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry. Two independent oxalate anions are located on individual inversion centers and bridge the Mn(II) cations into a polymeric chain running along [101]. Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[CuCl2(C27H26N6O2S)]·CH3CN} n , the copper(II) ion is fivefold coordinated, with an almost perfect square-pyramidal coordination sphere. In the equatorial plane, it is ligated to a pyridine N atom and an N atom of the triazole unit and to two Cl- ions, while the apical position is occupied by the carbonyl O atom of the tert-butyl carbamate group. In the crystal, the polymer chains propagate in the [11-1] direction, with the aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules linked to the chain by C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. The chains are linked by C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds forming sheets parallel to the plane (011). The crystal packing is further consolidated by C-H⋯π inter-actions and offset π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-centroid distance = 3.6805 (15) Å], forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ir(C(18)H(15)P)(2)(CO)(3)]PF(6)·CH(3)OH, the Ir(I) atom is coordinated by two triphenyl-phosphine ligands in axial sites and three carbonyl ligands in the equatorial plane of a fairly regular trigonal bipyramid: the equatorial C-Ir-C angles range from 115.45 (9) to 126.42 (10)°. The small deviations from the ideal tetra-hedral geometry around the P atoms are illustrated by C-P-C angles ranging from 104.08 (9) to 106.46 (9)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by weak C-H⋯F, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions.

The sum of the bond angles at Pd(II) is 358.3°, with C-Pd-P bite angles of 84.03?(10) and 83.54?(9)°. The structure includes three acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules, one with partial site occupation and one with severe disorder, which was eventually excluded from the refinement.
