Tetra-kis(pyridine-?N)bis-(tetrafluorido-borato-?F)copper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Cu(BF4)2(C5H5N)2], the Cu(II) ion is in an octa-hedral coordination environment and is surrounded by four pyridine and two tetra-fluoridoborate mol-ecules. The four pyridine mol-ecules are coordinated to the copper ion through their N atoms in the equatorial plane and display a right-handed screw arrangement around the Cu(II) ion. The remaining two trans positions in the octa-hedron are occupied by the BF4 (-) anions, each coordinating weakly through an F atom. The crystal packing shows a two-dimensional sheet structure parallel to the ab plane that is formed by C-H?F hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C2H6OS)4(C10H8N2)](ClO4)2, contains a Cu(II) ion with a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment, bonded by four O atoms of the monodentate dimethyl sulfoxide ligands and two N atoms of the bidentate chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand. The equatorial Cu-N and Cu-O bond lengths are in the range 1.979?(2)-1.998?(3)?Å. The axial Cu-O bond distances are 2.365?(2) and 2.394?(2)?Å. In the crystal, the complex cations and perchlorate anions are connected by numerous C-H?O hydrogen bonds, which leads to additional stabilization of the structure. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CuCl(2)(C(5)H(6)N(2))(4)]·H(2)O, contains two crystallographically independent complex mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules. The Cu(II) ion in each mol-ecule is six-coordinated in an elongated octa-hedral geometry, with the equatorial plane defined by four pyridine N atoms of four amino-pyridine ligands and the axial positions occupied by two Cl atoms. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by C-H?Cl, O-H?Cl, N-H?O, N-H?Cl and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and C/N-H?? inter-actions involving the pyridine rings.

Project description:The structure of the dinuclear title complex, [Cu(2)(C(5)H(9)O(2))(4)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported triclinic form [Blewett et al. (2006 ?). Acta Cryst. E62, m420-m422]. Each carboxyl-ate group is bidentate bridging and the distorted octa-hedral geometry about each Cu(II) atom is completed by a pyridine N atom and the other Cu atom [Cu?Cu = 2.6139?(7)?Å]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected into supra-molecular chains via ?-? inter-actions formed by the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.552?(3)?Å] and these are connected into a two-dimensional array in the ac plane by C-H?? contacts. One of the tert-butyl groups is disordered over two orientations in a 0.734?(6):0.266?(6) ratio.

Project description:The 4-methyl-pyridine (4-Mepy) based dimeric copper(II) carboxyl-ate complex [Cu2(C10H19O2)4(C6H7N)2] or [Cu2(?-O2CC9H19)4(4-Mepy)2] crystallizes with triclinic (P ) symmetry. The two CuII ions exhibit a distorted square-pyramidal environment and are connected into a centrosymmetric paddle-wheel dinuclear cluster [Cu?Cu = 2.6472?(8)?Å] via four bridging carboxyl-ate ligands arranged in the syn-syn coordination mode. The apical positions around the paddle-wheel copper centers are occupied by the N atoms of the 4-methyl-pyridine ligands. Project description:The title salt, [Pd(C(6)H(4)N(2))(4)](CF(3)SO(3))(2), comprises Pd(4-cyano-pyridine)(4) dications balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pd(II) atom lies in a square-planar geometry defined by four N atoms which form equivalent Pd-N inter-actions. The 4-cyano-pyridine ligands are twisted out of the N(4) plane, forming dihedral angles ranging from 66.5?(2) to 89.9?(2)°. In the crystal packing, columns of edge-to-edge dications define channels in which reside the anions. A range of C-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilizes the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(ClO(4))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(4)], was obtained unexpectedly by the reaction of copper(II) perchlorate hexa-hydrate with equimolar amounts of 1-chloro-1-nitro-2,2,2-tripyrazolylethane in methanol solution. The crystal structure comprises octa-hedrally coordinated Cu(2+) ions, located on an inversion centre, with four pyrazole ligands in the equatorial plane. The average Cu-N distance is 2.000?(1)?Å. Two perchlorate ions are coordinated to copper in trans positions [Cu-O = 2.4163?(11)?Å].

Project description:The title dinuclear complex, [Cu2(C6H11O2)4(C6H4N2)2], has a paddle-wheel structure. The two crystallographically independent Cu(II) atoms are each in a distorted square-pyramidal environment, in which four O atoms from the four bridging caproate ligands form the basal plane and the pyridine N atom of the 4-cyano-pyridine ligand occupies the apical position. The Cu⋯Cu distance is 2.6055 (9) Å. One of the alkyl chains of the caproate ligands is disordered over two sets of sites, with occupancies of 0.725 (5) and 0.275 (5). In the crystal, two pairs of C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into chains along [11-1] and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the chains into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], the Cu atoms [Cu?Cu = 2.6375?(6)?Å] are bridged by four 4-methyl-benzoate (PMB) ligands. The four nearest O atoms around each Cu(II) ion form a distorted square-planar arrangement, and the distorted square-pyramidal coordination is completed by the pyridine N atom of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligand. Each Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.2633?(1)?Å from the plane of the four O atoms, with an average Cu-O distance of 1.974?(2)?Å. The dihedral angles between carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 7.88?(19) and 9.68?(10)°, while the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 85.90?(9)°. The pyridine ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 8.59?(7) and 83.89?(9)° with respect to the benzene rings. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. ?-? contacts between the benzene rings and between the pyridine and benzene rings, [centroid-centroid distances = 3.563?(2) and 3.484?(2)?Å, respectively] may further stabilize the crystal structure.
