Bis(4-amino-pyridinium) μ6-oxido-dodeca-μ2-oxido-hexaoxido[rhenium(VII)tetratungsten(VI)vanadium(V)]ate hepta-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title organic-inorganic hybrid compound, (C5H7N2)2[ReVW4O19]·7H2O, the Lindqvist-type polyoxido anion has crystallographically imposed mm2 symmetry and is built up by six MO6 (M = W, V, Re) edge-sharing distorted octa-hedra. The Re and V atoms share the same crystallographic site in a 0.5:0.5 ratio. The 4-amino-pyridinium cations lie on a mirror plane. Three of the four independent water O atoms in the asymmetric unit are located on a mirror plane whereas the remaining O atom has mm2 site symmetry. In the crystal, the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network through O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, (NH(4))(5)Na(7)[Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](2)·21H(2)O, was prepared under atmospheric conditions in aqueous solution at room temperature. The structure contains the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) heteropolyoxometallate anion, which has been previously reported a number of times with a variety of differing counter-cations. Each anion is built up of five MoO(6) octa-hedra sharing an edge and forming a ring which is closed by common corners of the terminal octa-hedra. The rings are closed on both sides by two asymmetric PO(4) tetra-hedra, sharing three corners with three MoO(6) octa-hedra. The anions are chiral and the two independent anions in the asymmetric unit were arbitarily chosen with the same chirality, but the centrosymmetric crystal contains both enanti-omers. The structure can alternatively be described as a succession of layers parallel to (101), formed by the [Mo(5)P(2)O(23)](6-) anions and linked by sodium chains. Water mol-ecules and ammonium ions fill the remaining space and ensure the cohesion through extensive N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title organic-inorganic hybrid compound, (C(4)H(10)NO)(3)[H(6)CrMo(6)O(24)]·4H(2)O, the Anderson-type [H(6)CrMo(6)O(24)](3-) polyoxoanion is centrosymmetric, with the Cr(III) ion lying on an inversion center. One of the two crystallographiclly independent morpholinium cations is half-occupied. Inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the cations, polyoxoanions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules.

Adjacent clusters are linked via N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the imidazole cations and polyoxidoanions into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(4)[V(4)O(12)]·4H(2)O, contains half of a [V(4)O(12)](4-) anion, two 2-amino-4-methyl-pyridinium, (2a4mpH)(+), cations and two water mol-ecules. One water mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancies and the H atoms for this mol-ecule were not included in the refinement. The cation lies on an inversion center with four tetra-hedral VO(4) units each sharing two vertices, forming an eight-membered ring. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a one-dimensional network along [100]. Further stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances of 3.5420?(18), 3.7577?(18) and 3.6311?(19)?Å are observed.

Rhenium(VII) catalysis of Prins cyclization reactions.

Project description:The rhenium(VII) complex O3ReOSiPh3 is a particularly effective catalyst for Prins cyclizations using aromatic and alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes. The reaction conditions are mild, and the highly substituted 4-hydroxytetrahydropyran products are formed stereoselectively. Rhenium(VII) complexes appear to spontaneously form esters with alcohols and to directly activate electron-rich alcohols for solvolysis. Re2O7 and perrhenic acid are equally effective in catalyzing these cyclizations.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(2)H(8)N(2))(3)](2)[SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)]·6H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions. The asymmetric unit consists of a transition metal complex [Co(en)(3)](3+) cation (en is ethyl-enediamine), one half of an [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion, two solvent water mol-ecules in general positions and two half-mol-ecules of water located on a mirror plane. In the complex cation, the Co(3+) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination environment formed by six N atoms of the three chelating en ligands. One of the en ligands exhibits disorder of its aliphatic chain over two sets of sites of equal occupancy. The [SiMo(8)V(4)O(40)(VO)(2)](6-) heteropolyanion is a four-electron reduced bivanadyl-capped ?-Keggin-type molybdenum-vanadium-oxide cluster. In the crystal, it is located on a mirror plane, which results in disorder of the central tetra-hedral SiO(4) group: the O atoms of this group occupy two sets of sites related by a mirror plane. Furthermore, all of the eight ?(2)-oxide groups are also disordered over two sets of sites with equal occupancy. There are extensive inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the complex cations and inorganic polyoxidoanions, leading to a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The title compound, (CH6N3)7H9[PtMo6O24]2·7H2O, containing the well-known Anderson-type heteropolyoxomolybdate, was obtained by recrystallization of its powdered guanidinium salt. The protonated O atoms in the polyanion were confirmed by electron-density maps, inter-polyanion hydrogen bonds and bond-valance sums (BVS). The {[H4.5PtMo6O24]2}(7-) polyanion is the same as that already characterized in K7[H4.5PtMo6O24]2·11H2O [space group P-1; Lee & Joo (2010 ?). Acta Cryst. E66, i8-i9]. The heteropolyanions form inversion-generated dimers, {[H4.5PtMo6O24]2}(7-), held together by each of the four ?3-O-H??1-O, two ?2-O-H??2-O hydrogen bonds and one centrosymmetric ?3-O-H-?3-O hydrogen bond. The H atom of the centrosymmetric hydrogen bond is located on an inversion centre. One guanidinium ion and one water mol-ecule are equally disordered about a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:In the title salt, [Eu(C3H7NO)8][PMo12O40], the asymmetric unit comprises one ?-Keggin-type [PMo12O40](3-) polyoxidometalate anion and one distorted dodeca-hedral [Eu(C3H7NO)8](3+) complex cation. In the crystal, the isolated polyoxidometalate anions are packed into hexa-gonally arranged rows extending parallel to [001]. The complex cations are situated between the rows and are linked to the neighbouring anions through weak C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:In comparison with the previous determination [Saussine, Mimoun, Mitschler & Fisher (1980 ?). Nouv. J. Chim.4, 235-237] of the title compound, [V(2)(C(4)H(10)NO)(4)O(3)], the current study reports an improved precision of the derived geometric parameters, along with the deposition of all coordinates and displacement parameters. The two V(V) atoms are each surrounded by two deprotonated N,O-bidentate diethyl-hydroxy-laminate groups, and a terminal and a bridging oxide ligand, in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The crystal packing is accomplished by van der Waals inter-actions.
