(2,2'-Bi-pyridine-?(2) N,N')di-chloridopalladium(II) 1,4-dioxane hemisolvate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PdCl2(C10H8N2)]·0.5C4H8O2, consists of one Pd(II) complex mol-ecule and a half-mol-ecule of 1,4-dioxane, the complete mol-ecule being generated by inversion symmetry. The Pd(II) atom has an almost square-planar coordination formed by the 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand and two chloride ligands. Two intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, the Pd(II) complex and 1,4-dioxane mol-ecules are connected by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to (10-1). Within the layer, weak ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.817?(4)?Å] are observed between the pyridine rings.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Mn(NCS)2(C10H8N2)] n , the Mn(II) cations are coordinated by one chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand and four thio-cyanate anions (two N- and two S-coordinating), forming a distorted [MnN4S2] octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese cation located on a twofold rotation axis and half of a 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand, the other half being generated by the same twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion in a general position. The Mn(II) cations are linked by two pairs of ?1,3-bridging thio-cyanate ligands into chains along the c axis; because the N atoms of the 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, as well as the N and the S atoms of the thio-cyanate anions, are each cis-coordinating, these chains show a zigzag arrangement.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [CdI(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))](n), the Cd(2+) ion lies on a twofold rotation axis: it is six-coordinated in a distorted cis-CdN(2)I(4) octa-hedral geometry by two N atoms from a chelating 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligands and four bridging iodide anions. The bridging function of the iodide ions leads to a chain structure propagating in [001].

Project description:THE ASYMMETRIC UNIT OF THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 5-(1-bromo-prop-2-en-1-yl)-5-sec-butyl-pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione 1,4-dioxane hemisolvate], C(11)H(15)BrN(2)O(3)·0.5C(4)H(8)O(2), contains one half-mol-ecule of 1,4-dioxane and one mol-ecule of butallyl-onal, with an almost planar barbiturate ring [largest deviation from the mean plane = 0.049?(5)?Å]. The centrosymmetric dioxane mol-ecule adopts a nearly ideal chair conformation. The barbiturate mol-ecules are linked together by an N-H?O hydrogen bond, giving a single-stranded chain. Additionally, each dioxane mol-ecule acts as a bridge between two anti-parallel strands of hydrogen-bonded barbiturate mol-ecules via two hydrogen bonds, N-H?O(dioxane)O?H-N. Thus, a ladder structure is obtained, with the connected barbiturate mol-ecules forming the 'stiles' and the bridging dioxane mol-ecules the 'rungs'.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound,, C(4)H(4)N(2)O(5)·0.5C(4)H(8)O(2), contains one molecule of 5,5-dihydroxybarbituric acid with a nearly planar barbiturate ring and half a molecule of 1,4-dioxane. The geometry of the centrosymmetric dioxane molecule is close to an ideal chair conformation. The crystal structure exhibits a complex three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network. Project description:The title complex, [Co(3)(C(8)H(3)NO(6))(2)(C(2)H(3)O(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was synthesized under hydro-thermal conditions. The structure features a centrosymmetric complex with three Co(II) centres, one of which is located on a centre of inversion. The Co centres are coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The bipyridine ligands are bonded to just one Co centre in a chelating mode, whereas the 5-nitro-isophthalate and acetate ions are bonded to two different Co atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The dimethyl sulfoxide and water mol-ecules form linear chains along [100] by O-H?O and O-H?S hydrogen bonds, generating eight- and 12-membered rings. C-H?Cl inter-actions link the chains, forming a three-dimensional arrangement. In addition, the 4,4-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand exhibits ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.8741?(15) and 3.8353?(15)?Å]. The DMSO solvent is disordered and was refined with an occupancy ratio of 0.866?(3):0.134?(3).

Project description:In the title binuclear copper(II) complex, [Cu2(ClO4)2(OH)2(C10H8N2)2], the Cu(II) ion is coordinated in the form of a Jahn-Teller distorted octahedron by two bi-pyridine N atoms, two perchlorate O atoms and two hydroxide O atoms, and displays a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:In the title monomeric manganese(II) complex, [Mn(CH3COO)2(C10H8N2)(H2O)2], the metal ion is coordinated by a bidentate 2,2'-bi-pyridine (bpy) ligand, two water mol-ecules and two axial acetate anions, resulting in a highly distorted octa-hedral environment. The aqua ligands are stabilized by the formation of strong intra-molecular hydrogen bonds with the uncoordinated acetate O atoms, giving rise to pseudo-bridging arrangement of the terminal acetate groups. In the crystal, the mol-ecules form [010] zigzag chains via O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the aqua ligands and acetate O atoms. Further, the water and bpy ligands are trans to each other, and are arranged in an off-set fashion showing inter-molecular ?-? stacking between nearly parallel bi-py rings, the centroid-centroid separations being 3.8147?(12) and 3.9305?(13)?Å.
