(2,2'-Bi-pyridine-?(2) N,N')di-chloridopalladium(II) 1,4-dioxane hemisolvate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [PdCl2(C10H8N2)]·0.5C4H8O2, consists of one Pd(II) complex mol-ecule and a half-mol-ecule of 1,4-dioxane, the complete mol-ecule being generated by inversion symmetry. The Pd(II) atom has an almost square-planar coordination formed by the 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand and two chloride ligands. Two intra-molecular C-H?Cl hydrogen bonds occur. In the crystal, the Pd(II) complex and 1,4-dioxane mol-ecules are connected by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to (10-1). Within the layer, weak ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.817?(4)?Å] are observed between the pyridine rings.

Project description:THE ASYMMETRIC UNIT OF THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: 5-(1-bromo-prop-2-en-1-yl)-5-sec-butyl-pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione 1,4-dioxane hemisolvate], C(11)H(15)BrN(2)O(3)·0.5C(4)H(8)O(2), contains one half-mol-ecule of 1,4-dioxane and one mol-ecule of butallyl-onal, with an almost planar barbiturate ring [largest deviation from the mean plane = 0.049 (5) Å]. The centrosymmetric dioxane mol-ecule adopts a nearly ideal chair conformation. The barbiturate mol-ecules are linked together by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond, giving a single-stranded chain. Additionally, each dioxane mol-ecule acts as a bridge between two anti-parallel strands of hydrogen-bonded barbiturate mol-ecules via two hydrogen bonds, N-H⋯O(dioxane)O⋯H-N. Thus, a ladder structure is obtained, with the connected barbiturate mol-ecules forming the 'stiles' and the bridging dioxane mol-ecules the 'rungs'.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the polymeric title compound, [Mn(NCS)2(C10H8N2)] n , the Mn(II) cations are coordinated by one chelating 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand and four thio-cyanate anions (two N- and two S-coordinating), forming a distorted [MnN4S2] octa-hedron. The asymmetric unit consists of one manganese cation located on a twofold rotation axis and half of a 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligand, the other half being generated by the same twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion in a general position. The Mn(II) cations are linked by two pairs of ?1,3-bridging thio-cyanate ligands into chains along the c axis; because the N atoms of the 2,2'-bi-pyridine ligands, as well as the N and the S atoms of the thio-cyanate anions, are each cis-coordinating, these chains show a zigzag arrangement.

The structure features a centrosymmetric complex with three Co(II) centres, one of which is located on a centre of inversion. The Co centres are coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The bipyridine ligands are bonded to just one Co centre in a chelating mode, whereas the 5-nitro-isophthalate and acetate ions are bonded to two different Co atoms. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
