Poly[?6-(naphthalene-2,6-di-carboxyl-ato)-bis-(aqua-lithium)].

ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Li2(C12H6O4)(H2O)2] n , crystallizes with one half of the molecular entities in the asymmetric unit. The second half is gererated by inversion symmetry. The crystal structure has a layered arrangement built from distorted edge-sharing LiO3(OH)2 tetra-hedra parallel to (100), with naphthalenedi-carboxyl-ate bridging the LiO3(OH)2 layers along the [100] direction. Hydrogen bonding between the water molecule and adjacent carboxylate groups consolidates the packing.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ho(2)(C(12)H(6)O(4))(3)(H(2)O)(6)](n), contains binuclear centrosymmetric {Ho(2)O(2)(CO(2))(4)(H(2)O)(6)} cores inter-connected via the naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate (NDC(2-)) bridging ligands into a two-dimensional neutral plane net, ∞(2)[Ho(2)(NDC)(3)(H(2)O)(6)], exhibiting a typical (4,4)-topology. Inter-actions between adjacent layers are assured by a series of C-H⋯π contacts and a number of strong and highly directional O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecules and neighbouring coordinated carboxyl-ate groups. One NDC(2-) bridging ligand has its centroid located at a crystallographic centre of inversion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(4)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]Cl(2), contains two Li(I) cations, one with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and the other with a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry. Two symmetry-related asymmetric units constitute a building block of the structure, in which both ligand carboxyl-ate O atoms are bidentate and bridge the metal ions, forming a divalent cation. Charge balance is maintained by two chloride anions. The building blocks, bridged by Li(I) cations, form cationic ribbons with chloride anions in the space between them. The ribbons propagate in [010] and are held together by a network of weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds which operate in the space between adjacent ribbons.

Project description:The title compound, {(C(4)H(12)N(2))[Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n) or {(pipzH(2))[Bi(2)(pydc)(4)(H(2)O)]·H(2)O}(n), where pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and pipz is piperazine, was obtained by reaction of Bi(NO(3))(3)·5H(2)O with (pipzH(2))(pydc-H)(2)·3H(2)O in a 1:2 molar ratio in aqueous solution. There are two independent Bi(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is eight-coordinate with a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry, and another which is nine-coordinate with a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The carboxyl-ate groups of the (pydc)(2-) ligands link dinuclear [Bi(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(4)(H(2)O)](2-) units into one-dimensional coordin-ation polymers. The pipzH(2) (2+) cations (site symmetry ) and non-coordinated water mol-ecules lie between these polymers, forming N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the O atoms of the carboxylate groups.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Li(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment involving the N and O atoms of pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands with a bridging carboxyl-ate group, and two aqua O atoms also in a bridging mode. The symmetry-related Li(I) ions bridged by a carboxyl-ate O atom and a coordinating water O atom form an Li(2)O(2) unit with an Li?Li distance of 3.052?(4)?Å, which generates mol-ecular ribbons propagating in the c-axis direction. They form a dinuclear unit in which the two Li(I) ions are bridged by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the two ligands. Two dinuclear units related by an inversion centre form the tetra-meric mol-ecule. One of the Li(I) ions shows a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry, the other a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The tetra-mers are held together by hydrogen bonds in which coordinated water mol-ecules act as donors, and the carboxyl-ate O atoms act as acceptors. A hydrogen bond between coordinated water molecule as donor and a ring N atom as acceptor is also observed.

Project description:In the crystal of the title polymeric complex, {[CoCa(C7H3NO4)2(H2O)4]·2H2O} n (1), the CoII ion is N,O,O'-chelated by two pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry, and two carboxyl-ate O atoms of pyridine-2,6-di-carboxyl-ate anions bridge tetra-aqua-calcium(II) units to form polymeric chains propagating along the b-axis direction. In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and offset π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-centroid distances = 3.551 (1) and 3.746 (1) Å] involving inversion-related pyridine rings link the polymeric chains and lattice water mol-ecules to form a supra-molecular three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[Ce2(C8H4O5)3(H2O)9]·6H2O} n , the asymmetric unit is formed by two Ce(III) atoms, three 5-hy-droxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate ligands, nine coordinating water mol-ecules and six water mol-ecules of crystallization. The two Ce(III) atoms are bridged by 5-hy-droxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate ligands acting in a bis-bidentate coordination mode, generating infinite chains along [101]. Both independent metal atoms are nine-coordinated, one by four O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of two bridging 5-hy-droxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate ligands and five O atoms from water mol-ecules, generating a tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The coordination around the second Ce(III) atom is similar, except that one of the water mol-ecules is replaced by an O atom from an additional 5-hy-droxy-benzene-1,3-di-carboxyl-ate ligand acting in a monodentate coordination mode and forming a capped square-anti-prismatic geometry.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cu(C(17)H(11)N(2)O(3))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), is a two-dimensional polymer. The Cu(2+) ion lies on the crystallographic twofold axis. The coordination sphere of the Cu(2+) ion can be described as a distorted square pyramid. All of the H atoms in the amide group and lattice water mol-ecules participate in O-H?O or N-H?O hydrogen bonding to strengthen the two-dimensioal framework of the polymer.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Ca(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), was synthesized from pyrazine-2,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid and calcium dichloride under hydro-thermal conditions. The Ca(2+) cation is seven-coordinated by five O atoms and one N atom of four pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anions, and one water mol-ecule. The complete deprotonated pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anion adopts a μ(4)-coordination mode, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure.
