ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title salt, [Ag(C3H8N2S)(C18H15P)3](CH3COO), the Ag(I) ion exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral coordination sphere defined by three P atoms from three tri-phenyl-phosphane ligands and one S atom from a 1,3-di--methyl-thio-urea ligand. In the crystal, the acetate anion is linked with the complex cation via duplex N-H?O hydrogen bonds [graph-set motif R (2) 2(8)].

Project description:In the mononuclear title complex, [Ag(C5H12N2S)(C18H15P)3](CH3COO)·CH3OH, the Ag(I) ion is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry formed by three P atoms from three tri-phenyl-phosphane ligands and one S atom from an N,N'-di-ethyl-thio-urea ligand. In the crystal, the acetate anion is connected to the complex mol-ecule via a pair of N-H?O hydrogen bonds [graph-set motif R (2) 2(8)] and the solvent methanol mol-ecule is connected to the anion via an O-H?O hydrogen bond. This aggregate is further connected through a weak C-H?O hydrogen bond, forming a chain along [100]. In addition, sixfold phenyl embraces with inter-molecular distances of 6.6463?(13)-6.667?(2)?Å are arranged in a chain along [001]. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the anions by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, generating tetra-mers (two cations and two anions), which feature R 2 (2)(8) and R 4 (4)(8) loops. The cations are linked by weak C-H?? inter-actions, generating a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the tetra-kis(tri-phenyl-phosphan-yl)disilver salt of butane-1,1,4,4-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid, [Ag2(C8H8O8)(C18H15P)4]·3CH2Cl2, crystallizes with one and a half mol-ecules of di-chloro-methane in the asymmetric unit. The coordination complex exhibits an inversion centre through the central CH2-CH2 bond. The Ag(I) atom has a distorted trigonal-planar P2O coordination environment. The packing is characterized by inter-molecular T-shaped π-π inter-actions between the phenyl rings of the PPh3 substituents in neighbouring mol-ecules, forming a ladder-type superstructure parallel to [010]. These ladders are arranged in layers parallel to (101). Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between the OH group and one O atom of the Ag-bonded carboxyl-ate group results in an asymmetric bidendate coordination of the carboxyl-ate moiety to the Ag(I) ion.

The 4,4-bi-pyridine and Cl(-) anions bridge the Ag(I) cations, forming polymeric chains running along [21-1]. In the crystal, weak C-H?Cl inter-actions link the polymeric chains into a three-dimensiona supra-molecular architecture.

The binuclear cationic complex comprises two inversion-related [Ag(C3H6N2S)2(C18H15P)] units with Ag(I) ions bridged by two S atoms from etu ligands forming a four-membered Ag-S-Ag-S ring. Each Ag(I) ion is coordinated by a P atom of a PPh3 ligand, two S atoms of bridging etu ligands and the terminal S atom of an etu ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. Two ?3-bridging I(-) anions are linked by three Ag(I) ions, leading to the formation of a dicapped triangular motif with Ag?Ag separations in the range 3.0823?(5)-3.2999?(5)?Å. Each Ag(I) atom exhibits a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, with coordination to two I atoms and two P atoms from bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)methane ligands. In the crystal, the I(-) anion is linked to the ptu mol-ecule through two N-H?I hydrogen bonds [graph-set motif R 2 (1)(6)]. Project description:The molecule of the title compound, [IrCl(C7H5NS)(C3H9P)3], is a distorted octa-hedral iridium complex with three PMe3 ligands arranged in a meridional geometry, a chloride ion cis to all three PMe3 groups and the phenyl iso-thio-cyanate ligand bonded in an ?(2)-fashion through the C and S atoms. The C atom is trans to the chloride ion and the S atom is responsible for a significant deviation from an ideal octa-hedral geometry. The geometric parameters for the metal-complexing phenyl isothiocyanate group are compared with other metal-complexed phenyl iso-thio-cyanates, as well as with examples of uncomplexed aryl iso-thio-cyanates.

Each bromide/ptu aggregate links the complex ion via C-H?S and C-H?Br hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network. Two phenyl rings from two dppm ligands were modelled as disordered over two sites.
