Crystal structure of bis-[1,3-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)propane-?(2) P,P']platinum(II) dichloride chloro-form penta-solvate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Pt{Ph2P(CH2)3PPh2}2]Cl2·5CHCl3, the Pt(II) cations, located on a centre of inversion, is coordinated by two chelating diphosphane ligands in a geometry which is close to square-planar. The chelate rings adopt a chair conformation. The Pt(II) cations are arranged in layers separated by Cl(-) anions as well as CHCl3 solvent mol-ecules. While this complex has been reported previously [Anderson et al. (1983 ?). Inorg. Chim. Acta, 76, L251-L252], this is the first time a structure has been determined.

Project description:The title compound, [Fe(2)(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(24)H(22)BP(2))(CO)(4)][FeCl(4)]·CHCl(3), is an oxidation product of CpFe(CO)(2)PPh(2)BH(3). One pair of phenyl rings attached to the two different P atoms are almost parallel, as are the other pair [dihedral angles = 8.7 (5) and 8.9 (5)°]. The planes of the two cyclo-penta-dienyl rings are inclined by 26.8 (7)° with respect to each other. The carbonyl groups at each Fe atom are almost perpendicular [C-Fe-C = 92.6 (6) and 94.3 (5)°].

Project description:The title compound, [Au2(C27H26P2)2][NiCl4]·C4H10O, consists of a digold(I) complex cation, an [NiCl4](2-) complex anion and a diethyl ether solvent mol-ecule. Two 1,3-bis-(di-phenyl-phosphan-yl)propane (dppp) ligands bridge two Au(I) atoms, forming a metallacycle in which each of the Au(I) atoms is coordinated in a slightly distorted linear environment by two P atoms. In the complex anion, the Ni(II) atom is coordinated by four chloride ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The complex cation and the complex anion form a cation-anion pair through two Au⋯Cl contacts of 3.040 (1) and 3.021 (2) Å. One of the phenyl groups of the dppp ligand is disordered over two positions with equal occupancies.

The diphosphadiborane mol-ecule consists of an ideal planar four-membered B(2)P(2) ring with an additional phenyl and a -PPh(2) group attached to each B atom.

Project description:The title compound, [Pt(C??H??NP?)?](CF?SO?)?, consists of a Pt(II) atom, situated on an inversion centre, coordinated by two diphosphinoamine bidentate ligands and charge-balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pt(II) atom has a distorted square-planar geometry defined by the four P atoms. The distortion is illustrated by the P-Pt-P bite angle of 70.31?(4)°. The geometry around the N atom deviates from a trigonal-planar geometry, evidenced by the P-N-P bite angle of 102.3?(2) °. The N atom is displaced by 0.114?(4)?Å from the C/P/P plane. In order to coordinate, the orientation of the phenyl rings alters from a C(s) conformation to a C(2v) conformation. The cyclo-pentane ring is slightly twisted: the puckering parameters are q(2) = 0.420?(5)?Å and ? = 26.5?(8) °. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion displays a 0.511?(11):0.489?(11) positional disorder. Weak inter- and intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds influence the crystal packing.

The dihedral angle between the two carboxyl-ate groups of the dianion is 78.1?(2)°. In the crystal, the components are held together by N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to the bc plane, with the hydro-philic and hydro-phobic groups located in the inner and outer regions of the layers, respectively.

Each Cu(I) cation is four-coordinated by two P atoms of a 1,3-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)propane mol-ecule and two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, with a coordination geometry that can be considered as distorted tetra-hedral. The crystal studied was twinned with a twin ratio of 0.786?(2):0.214?(2).
