ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C5HN7, the nitrile and azido substituents are close to being coplanar with the central ring. Mol-ecules in the crystal are linked via an N-H?N hydrogen bond to a nitrile acceptor, forming a chain extending along the c-axis direction.

With the exception of the O atoms of the nitro groups, the mol-ecules are essentially planar. In the crystal, adjacent mol-ecules are associated by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving the imidazole N-H donors and N-atom acceptors of the unsaturated nitro-gen of neighboring rings, forming layers parallel to (010).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag(3)Yb(C(5)HN(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), contains three Ag(I) ions, one Yb(III) ion, two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two coordinating water mol-ecules. The Yb(III) atom is eight-coordinated, in a bicapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and two coordinating water mol-ecules. The two-coordinated Ag(I) ions exhibit three types of coordination environments. One Ag(I) atom is bonded to two N atoms from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The other two Ag(I) atoms are each coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, generating a two-dimensional heterometallic layer. These layers are stacked along the a axis via O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions to generate a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(14)N(4), which was crystallized from dimethyl sulfoxide, the arene and heterocyclic rings of the lophine analogue framework differ only slightly from coplanarity (dihedral angles range from 8.8 to 20.2°), and intramolecular N-H?N and C-H?N interactions help to establish the conformation. The crystal packing features a number of weak C-H?N, N-H?N hydrogen-bond type contacts, and C-H?? interactions, leading to the formation of a herringbone structure.

Project description:The new title one-dimensional CdII coordination polymer, [Cd(C10H10N2)2(?1,3-N3)2] n , has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The asymmetric unit consists of a CdII ion, one azide and one 1-benzyl-imidazole (bzi) ligand. The CdII ion is located on an inversion centre and is surrounded in a distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere by six N atoms from four symmetry-related azide ligands and two symmetry-related bzi ligands. The CdII ions are linked by double azide bridging ligands within a ?1,3-N3 end-to-end (EE) coordination mode, leading to a one-dimensional linear structure extending parallel to [100]. The supra-molecular framework is stabilized by the presence of weak C-H?N inter-actions, ?-? stacking [centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.832?(2)?Å] and C-H?? inter-actions between neighbouring chains.

Project description:The title compound, C26H24Cl2N2, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules (1 and 2) in the asymmetric unit. In mol-ecule 1, the two phenyl and 2,6-di-chloro-phenyl rings are inclined to the imidazole ring at angles of 74.12 (14), 26.13 (14) and 67.30 (14)°, respectively. In mol-ecule 2, due to the different mol-ecular environment in the crystal, the corresponding angles are different, viz. 71.72 (15), 16.14 (15) and 80.41 (15)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules 1 and 2 are linked by C-H⋯Cl inter-actions, and inversion-related 2 mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯π inter-actions. There are no other significant inter-molecular inter-actions present.

The two phenyl and meth-oxy-benzene rings are inclined to the imidazole ring at angles of 25.32?(7), 76.79?(5) and 35.42?(7)°, respectively, while the meth-oxy substituent lies close to the plane of its benzene ring, with a maximum deviation of 0.126?(3)?Å for the meth-oxy C atom. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H?O hydrogen bonds generate R2(2)(22) loops. These dimers are stacked along the a-axis direction.
